Although it is showing some wear and tear (it is after all all Korea's oldest hotel), the Chosun--now Westin therefore Starwood--is a great, reliable, professional, un-boutiquey (in a very good way) institution.
The service is impeccable. The standard rooms are well appointed even though they are not too spacious. There is free wi fi, and coffee machines and electric kettles in the rooms, along with nicely designed toiletries. The best rooms face the mountain.
If you manage to have access to the Executive Lounge on the top floor, you will be offered a generous breakfast in the morning and a tasty buffet for wine hour in the evening.
I stay at the Chosun every time I go to Seoul not only because it is so good and it is smack in the center of Seoul, near City Hall, but also because it has a truly top-notch, huge gym with a good pool.More
