This was a great first stop for our holiday in. Vanuatu
It was relaxing and the views were simply amazing.
The staff were exceptional and extremely polite and friendly

I think it should be clear though if you’re looking for a beach style resort where you stay in the one place and just go to the pool every day and don’t leave, this is not the place for you, which is were I assume the negative reviews are coming from.
We used this as a nice place to base ourselves, to have a comfortable place to sleep and place to eat at as we explored around the island for a few days before we headed to another resort for a wedding.

We learnt quickly, just like other island nations like Fiji that everyone was on “Vanuatu or Island time” so to just relax no ones in a hurry. Food at the restaurant was really really good and had a good selection of items.

The manager personally introduced himself to us at dinner and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay, which was a nice touch and was appreciated.

The views from our beautiful room were absolutely breathtaking, we slept with the bi folding doors open at night and woke up to the stunning view and sound of the wildlife, it was amazing. This was an excellent place to start and base our holiday from. We caught the local bus out the front of the hotel into town and to any destination we wanted. The locals are extremely friendly and helpful. The bus is cheap and safe and it’s nice to give back to the locals (its like catching a tuk tuk in Thailand if you’ve had this experience)

The staff, especially Karina went out of their way to make our stay extremely enjoyable and fun. The cocktails were delicious and the best we had our whole stay in Vanuatu. We enjoyed having all our meals at the restaurant here every day.
We weren’t fussed about not having wifi in our rooms, because we weren’t on holidays to be on the internet the whole time, it forced us to look at the beautiful views not our phones!

The negative reviews on here are from people expecting 5 Star accomodation and who haven’t really seemed to do their research that well on the place before booking. I’m always extremely amused by people’s complaints and expectations, I often feel it’s a reflection of them not necessarily the place that they have booked. Some people forget to look for all the positives and remember they are on holiday and to enjoy themselves and instead just look for all the flaws. Perpetually unhappy. Honestly some people you could never please no matter where you sent them.
Please remember when reviewing places that you’re directly impacting the lively hoods of the beautiful people who work there, and to remember you are on holidays and to try and be grateful for the many positive things you can find at places, you will be a much happy person for it when you focus on the positives!! My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, it was beautiful and relaxing, just what we needed. Thank you!

This hotel is 10-15 mins away from Port Vila overlooking nice harbour. All meals were excellent though a bit expensive for this catering and you might be involve in long wait. Though, food is safe to eat.

We have recently returned to the Sunset Bungalows Resort in Port Vila and have found some familiar faces and some new ones. The staff at Sunset Bungalows cannot do enough for you to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The Bungalows are under new management and David was present and available for any questions and had lots of great advice on different options for tours and restaurants and local dishes to try. The Bungalows are now owned by Blue Springs and can offer a great deal on the Cascade Waterfall trip and any other tour available through Evergreen Tours. We were booked in for 4 nights but had a flight delay and all it took was simple message to Colleen at reception and we were instantly booked in for more nights and also airport transfer was organised. Thank you Colleen and Mary-Sita and Jenny for great customer service and reception. Sylvia and Lilly are always there to greet you for breakfast, lunch, dinner or happy hour with a smile and a lovely meal cooked by Jo in the kitchen. Naomi was even on hand from housekeeping to assist when we were very lucky enough to get an upgrade to a lovely Bungalow style accommodation instead the Lagoon View room, which we were more than happy with but the upgrade was much appreciated. Tangkyu Tu Mas to David and all the staff at Sunset :)

Room Tip: Great Location - Quiet & Peaceful with No Kids!

Just a few minutes out of Port Vila on the lagoon; easy to walk out onto the road and take a bus or taxi into town. The staff there were so friendly and helpful with tips on what to do, booking snorkelling trips, lending us equipment and towels; meals were beautifully presented and tasty. The bungalow we stayed in (3 sisters) was roomy, very clean and comfortable with a large shower, vanity and separate toilet. We talked to the crabs, Horned Starfish and fish over the balcony each morning and evening as we sat out there with our glass of wine or cuppa; and the morning view across the lagoon was magical and peaceful.

Room Tip: Loved our Bungalow over the lagoon

My husband Trent and I visited in June this year for 10 days. The staff are absolutely amazing - they just could not have been more helpful in any capacity, be it service in the restaurant or arranging car hire/tours, customer service at its finest.
The resort itself is lovely - quiet and unique. The setting over the lagoon is a slice of heaven and I will miss having a beautifully cooked breakfast whilst drinking in the view.
Talking of food - the chefs are also excellent, they even cooked our fishing charter catch for us one evening creating a mango salsa to compliment it.
This is a fabulous base from which to explore this beautiful part of the world and we cannot wait to return.
Wishing everyone at Sunset Bungalows all the very best wishes for the remainder of 2018, we will see you again very soon

Thank you for making our holiday a very special memory
