We booked here based on the price, which seems a bit better than most options in Georgetown. When we stayed it was 30 USD for a room with fan, and 45 with air con. Julian was helpful when we first contacted him through Facebook, and organised us a taxi from the airport when we arrived very late at night. He was also excellent throughout our stay, helping us with whatever we needed to know, calling us taxis when needed, etc. The guesthouse is also a restaurant, which was handy - we ate there every evening as Georgetown isn't necessarily the safest place to walk around at night. The bar wasn't very noisy or anything and our room was quiet at night. Wifi from the restaurant worked well in our room too.
The first room we stayed in, room 9, had a bad smell to it and the aircon was old, didn't work well and and was very noisy. And the toilet didn't flush properly. We asked after one night if we could change rooms, and the second room, 10, was a lot better. No smell, and while the air con was still noisy it was a big improvement, and the toilet worked! The bed here however was very soft - quite uncomfortable. I'm sure one of the rooms has the perfect combination of bed, aircon and no smell! The rooms all have private bathroom, which is basic with only cold water shower, but fine. All rooms are very small and overly cluttered with furniture; if they got rid of the TV / chest of drawers / 2 chairs, there would be a lot more space! We felt that both rooms we stayed in could have been a lot cleaner; there were lots of stains on the walls, in the bathroom, etc. The sheets were also stained (but clean), and we didn't like the plastic covers on the mattress and pillows (presumably to ward off bedbugs though, so maybe for the best!).
The restaurant is managed by someone else, not Julian, but there isn't a separate place to review it so I'll mention it here. On our first day they massively overcharged us for breakfast (15 USD!!); every other day it was half this price. Dinners were tasty but not much variety and very few vegetables available. And we had one major complaint with the restaurant - the lady behind the bar in the morning, who is one of the most unhelpful, rude and lazy people we have ever met! Julian was often not around in the morning, so we had to ask her for help, which was like talking to a brick wall. Would advise asking Julian everything you need in the evening in case he's not around in the morning.
Overall, not a bad place to stay and quite good value for Georgetown, but a little work would improve it a lot.

Room Tip: Avoid room 9 - bad smell!

It's by far the best value option. The price is compared to others very reasonable. Additionally you have bar and restaurant downstairs where you can meet others including locals.
The owner Julian was incredible helpful with all of our many questions and made our stay pleasant. I wish there would be more hotel/hostels-owners like him where you feel like a human. :-)

Room Tip: Rooms are small but all with A/C and own bathroom.
