Lapaz is one of the places which we enjoyed during our South America trip.

We stayed at the Hotel Europa which was selected part of our tour by the travel agent. The hotel was spacious, reasonable clean and good location however it was very old and needed an update. Staff were changing and rude at times.

Very poor on the buffet breakfast and dinner option.

Dear guest,
Thank you for taking the time to comment about us on TripAdvisor. We are currently in an updating process, and have recently released our Premium rooms, we are sorry your travel agent didn’t inform you about this rooms previous to your arrival, we are sure you would have loved them.
On the other hand, we pay a lot of attention on making sure that our breakfast offers a wide variety of fresh and local foods, to make sure our guests enjoy the best of La Paz, however, we will look deeper into it to see what else we can improve.
Thank you again for your comments and helping us improve.

Arrived after sunset in La Paz after a tortuous 80km bus journey from Huatajata that took about 3 hours on hells highway over Easter. On arrival this hotel with its modern, large open foyer was a sight for sore eyes. Our bedroom and bathroom were large, well lit, clean, quiet and comfortable with plenty of room to walk around open suitcases. No issues with wi-fi. We were given a complimentary drink at the rooftop bar, (must have heard about our trip). We would love to return to Bolivia (stay was too short) and would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Conveniently located in a small street a block away from La Paz’s main avenue, the hotel suffers from city's noisy eventful center.
During the week, you get the morning noise from D. Bosco’s school, on the other side of the street.
On weekends, the sound from religious and political parades at Av. 16 de Julio prevents you to get a calm stay at the hotel.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your feedback, we are currently working on implementing the double glass in all the Hotel rooms, however, since we are a big Hotel, the change is taking time.
We hope you get the chance to visit us again and see the improvements.

I really hate when someone lie about the stars. This is a 3 stars hotel, no more. Not cozy at all and ugly decor. The bed very uncomfortable. The breakfast very bad. I will not repeat nor recommend...

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your comment about us on TripAdvisor. We just want to clear that the stars rating we have is not self-imposed, but granted by the Hospitality Chamber of La Paz and Bolivia.
We are sorry you couldn’t get a more punctual comment from you, so we could have addressed every issue and improve.

This hotel should be rated at 3 stars at most by international standards. I came here on business and from the first day the experience was terrible. I came on a red eye flight from Miami, obviously very tired and I was place on the 9th floor and construction was going on in the floor above me and the building in front of the hotel. It was really hard for me to get some rest. There are only two irons for the entire hotel and you need to call and ask to borrow the iron. These irons when available are in very bad shape and I ended up damaging a shirt that was worth more than the iron itself. The internet service at the hotel is also very slow. Finally, after long day of work I was trying to relax watching a movie and at 12am on the dot the cable service for the entire hotel was suspended. They said that it was because of technical difficulties but the message in the TV clearly display that there was not access to the service. Maybe they forgot to pay the service and it was cut off. Stay away from this hotel, they charge you as a 5 stars with a service of a 3 stars. The only thing great about this hotel apart from the location is the staff that have to face angry customers because management of the hotel decides to be cheap.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in any floor but the 9th.

Dear Mr. De Vanna,
We are sorry you had some issues while staying with us, however, there are some things we would like to point out:
- The renovations the hotel is undergoing are proof that we invest in the hotel to guarantee the comfort and wellbeing of our guests. We try to keep the construction noise to working hours to reduce the discomfort of our guests and when requested we gladly offer a room change. Sadly, there is not much we can do regarding the construction in front of us.
- About your ironing issue, we don’t offer in-room irons due to safety concerns, however, we have several irons on request. Since we also offer the ironing service, we do not take responsibility when a guest does not operate the iron properly and damages his own clothing items by using the wrong temperature. None the less, in your case, and because we could see your frustration with the situation, we offered (and covered) part of a shirt replacement.
- Unfortunately, since cable service is offered by a third party, we cannot control service failures, but we did put our effort in resolving the issue as promptly as possible.
Once again, we are sorry about your unfortunate issues, and we will look into ways of reducing the construction discomfort. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback.
Best regards,
