The K108 is situated in the older part of town, but is a lovely modern hotel with traditional influences. The reception for example is adorned with intricate Arabic stylings, whereas the roof pool is thoroughly modern.
The staff are exceptionally friendly, smiley and helpful. They remembered my name, and one of the restaurant staff even remembered my morning drink preference in the short time I was there.
Beds are very comfortable and the AC works just fine. The bathroom was larger than expected, with a nice large shower area. Not particularly stunning views to be had on the back side of the hotel, but it's quiet at least. Soundproofing is moderate, and it took very boisterous neighbours to disturb my sleep.
WiFi leaves quite a bit to be desired, with weak signal and slow speed; I had better luck with another unsecured network. Breakfast was tasty, and the evening meals are well presented. Room service isn't too much money, and was of surprising quality.
For the cost, I was pleasantly surprised. Overall it's a nice hotel with friendly staff. Not the biggest or plushest, but by no means the worst. It's a reasonable walk from the hotel to the Souq, or to nearby restaurants or shopping streets.More
