The museum has awesome exhibits all housed in a beautiful building. Though there are better museums around the world this one is worth not missing when you're in Doha. Entrance is free and there is also a market at the museum grounds on Saturdays. The exhibits cover many eras from Chinese to Ottoman to modern art. Have some lunch at the restaurant overlooking the bay for a relaxing time.

Stunning architecturally and amazing exhibits. The grounds are beautiful and have views of the whole of westbay. Free entry, great for a lazy afternoon.

The Museum of Islamic Art is designed by the legendary IM Pei and it is absolutely gorgeous inside, inspired by a lot of Islamic features. The art is also very extensive, with English descriptions available. It is such a great museum, especially to someone visiting the area for the first time. There's the option to have a bite and drink something in their small cafe, with windows right next to the water and views of the skyline. Just beautiful. Plus it's free! Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Doha.

This museum was one of the most beautiful I have ever visited. The design is stunning and the collections inside were spectacular. And there is no admission price. You must go!!!

This museum is incredible. It was top of my to do list for Doha and it did not disappoint. The view from the cafe over the water is stunning. The architecture is amazing. You must dress modestly to visit, in fact, take a jacket as it is really well air conditioned and can get quite cold. I got there at 9 am and there was hardly anyone there. It is beautiful, informative, peaceful, I had a cuppa in between floors, bought a few things at the gift shop.
There were people rushing through the museum as if it was something to tick off their list. Museums are not for everyone, if they are your thing, plan to spend a couple of hours here at least. When I finally left I realised I had been there for 5 hours.
As of March 2018 there was a small exhibition about historical guns and swords, which I thought 'whatever, I'm here now I may as well check it out'. Mind blown! I put aside how I feel about weapons and took in the incredible work that went into the amazing pieces of art, that is really what they are. This exhibition is definitely worth a look.
Loved it. Oh and did I mention its free to get in.
