Description: Kampai is a Japanese sushi restaurant whose name means "cheers" in the mother tongue. Though most guests seek out Kampai for its deliriously delicious sushi, the traditional Japanese cooking (you know, the hot stuff!) Is also noteworthy. Don't miss the siu mai and gyoza dumplings-a few of these melt-in-your-mouth savory bundles, stuffed with your choice of shrimp, fresh crab, chicken, wagyu, or shiitake, will sufficiently whet your appetite for the subsequent course. Here, we recommend the Kampai Maksushi, an assembly of tender scallop wrapped in a lightly-fried panko crust and topped with grilled salmon. Perfection.

Best sushi in beirut by far. Great spot to meet with friends enjoy perfect sashimi, sushi and Japanese dishes. My favourite is soft crab shell and not to miss the black cod. Various selection of wine offered from local and international market. Never disappointed but can be crowded for some.

This place offers very good Japanese food, with a great variety. Suitable for families but not very kids friendly.

I always look for new japanese restaurants when in Beirut. Was planning a date and Kampai was a recommendation of friends. The food is exquisite and ambiance cozy and entertaining. Place was packed but the service was fast and food tasty. They have some fusion sushi platters. The biggest test of a sushi place is the sashimi and they passed the exam.
I would definitely go back again though with friends.

Nice mix of fusion and Japanese food.
Constant taste and service. Each time we went we had the same good experience.

Sunday lunchtime is always tricky on a hot summer day in Beirut. Looking for a fresh spot yet casual and trendy so we opted for Kampai. It has maintained its reputation for a gathering spot of Beirutis. The reception was courteous, whisked to our table and given ample time to make our choices. We had a selection of sushi, sashimi and some house specialties. The sashimi was exquisite, the rest ranged from good to excellent. The gyozas were average. All washed down with a cold sake. We were served by Mohamed who was joyful, swift and sharp.
