If you like waiting for 10 minutes alone in a small restaurant without any waiter greeting you, this is the right place.

At Gou, every ingredient is carefully picked. The hot chocolate is definitely the best in town (try the 74% cocoa). The chocolate fondant is nothing like I have ever tasted before, it is a must! The Paphos salad is just light and delicious. The goat cheese salad combines the creaminess of the cheese and the sweetness of grilled figs! A great selection of coffee for you to enjoy in a French press! Not a big fan of the scones, though.

I tried this place after reading so many positive comments on trip advisor. I think it is a bit overrated. We had a breakfast in Gou. It was just ''ok''. The service was just average. The chairs were extremely old. The atmosphere was ok but nothing special. There are many other places which is thousand times better than this place.

Gou has a great terrace, far enough from the busy road to be pleasant. Everything I've tried here is good, the hot chocolate is the best in Beirut.

We tried Gou for breakfast, especially since it has a non smoking policy and outdoor seating. it's on a busy street but set back far enough that the sunken patio feels surprising calm and relaxing. Our table for two was the first customer on a Sunday morning. There was only one server on, but since it wasn't busy, our breakfast arrived quickly and in abundance. The baked goods were delicious, especially the raisin scones. But I was disappointed in our omelettes. They were not especially hot and the texture and taste suggested that they may not have been made to order. They were extremely dry and the flavours not fresh. I wouldn't order the omelette again, but I may try it for lunch or dinner another time.
