“Used it as a base for our wedding!! We had 15-20 rooms booked.”
Reviewed 17 April 2012

You would think that with such a large reservation, some extra levels of service would have been extended to us and our group. The rooms booked were for the international guests for our wedding (June 2010) that flew in from Europe, Middle & Far East as well as South Africa. Regrettably, at the time, the Grand Hyatt was being built and the noise levels were unbearable for some of our guests. Overall though, the rooms were fine, the breakfast was fine too, but all in all... there's nothing to write home about. Although the hotel will not leave you upset either. Great location with most Beirut highlights within walking distance. And because our group was so big, we made our own fun and certainly enjoyed our stay here!

Room Tip: Try to avoid facing the construction site next door!!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your experience on Trip Advisor.

I would like to apologize for the incident happened with our elevator during your stay with us. Indeed, as we are in a process of installing new elevators, we faced an unexpected problem with the one currently working. These incidents were unfortunately unexpected and we tried to fix i them the fastest way we could.

As for the key system, I will immediately investigate with the company.

It is our hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience during your stay. I am looking forward to welcoming you back soon and hopefully to get a second chance to prove to you the quality of services on which we have built our good reputation.

Best Regards
Joe Abi Khalil - Front Office Manager

Despite the negatives some people might write about this hotel (you might hear complaints of the construction site nearby or the elevators), I think what matters the most in a hotel is its management and actions taken when a problem occurs. I stayed in the hotel during last week of February 2012 and I had a problem (i will not go through the details here). The thing is that I communicated my concern to the front desk manager, and in few days the General Manager contacted me and solved my problem even after I have left the country.
So I am very appreciative of the professionalism of the management team which makes you feel comfortable that you have chosen an international chain.

Good and relatively new hotel. Clean, friendly staff, ideal for long term stay. Excellent service. Rooms are good sized with a small balcony/terrace with each. The food from the room service is surprisingly excellent, and the chef is ready to cater to some off-menu items if he has time. The location of the hotel is central and close to most of the businesses and shopping distict

Stayed there just recently for nearly three weeks. The room was great - but i had a business suite - the staff were very friendly and helpful and it is in a very good location for the centre, not far from Hamra and so many places in walking distance. The main problem was the food that really for Lebanon was very poor - either overcooked or tasteless - so if you can eat out all the time - then it is a hotel to be recommended and the prices - if you get a good deal are the best around the centre.
