Located in the old zone of Manama.
It is a self-service with Arabic and international food. We stopped there during the visit of Manama organized by Msc Cruises. Very clean and polite service. Large choice of food and nice furnishing with many news on coffee.

Thank Hanne W

it was my first time to Saffron traditional Bahraini restaurant, it was nice and prices was reasonable.
It is crowded a bit, but in general it is normal in Bahrain to stay in crowded areas and restaurants especially.

We had a couple of breakfast platters and the karak chai is hands down the best thing i had in a long long time. We also tried the sesame chicken - good ....

Last but not the least were the palm water shots - EXCELLENT :)

Zaffran - Super amazing, good tasty food, good service, worth your money :)

Must try resto.

Resident in Bahrain, at long last found the time to discover Saffron in Muharraq which we had heard so much about.
We seated ourselves near the counter and eventually informed that lunch was a fixed menu.
Drinks were ordered, mis-served and re-served. The food was a disappointment, 3 pots each; Bahraini eggs, foul, and "baked beans", Heinz I believe. All edible but so, so ordinary. And a basket of bread. We've been long enough in the region to know when bread has been served then reheated. A visible kitchen would have inspired more confidence especially when one of the falafel rolls contained a suspicious looking"half falafel", It looked as if someone had taken a bite out of it. Hence my desire to see the kitchen because many of the dishes return to the "kitchen", from diners that have finished thir meal, still laden with food. The waiter assured me it wasn't a "seconds" but.....I left it, open and guilty looking.
One other concern, far too much traffic behind the counter from drivers or friends or whoever, who had nothing to do with the service of food. A food service area should normally follow some hygiene code but this afternoon there were more groupies than staff. Sniffing, touching leaning against .
Not usually a complainer but this experience has left me feeling jaded. Bahrain has some excellent traditional eating outlets. Not Saffron Muharraq. (However I will try the outlet in the Manama Souk... maybe better)
