“Good Location/Extravagant”
Reviewed 19 July 2012

I recently visited this hotel in June 2012. I went with my family 2 adults and 2 kids.

Check-In/Out: Was reasonably quick. They accept all major credit cards. Bellman assisted us with our bags. Get ready to go through security check before getting in (it's pretty quick you just put your baggage through an airport style screening machine).

Room: We had a suite with a Kaaba view, and it was breathtaking! Excellent amenities, good quality and very clean.

Location: Although the location is close, give yourself at least 10-20 minutes to reach the haram. You have to go down 2 sets of elevators to reach the mall level, from there its about a 10 minute walk into the haram. You will not be able to reach the haram in time if the azan has already been called and you are still in your room - reason being is it gets very crowded in front of the haram entrance at that time.

Pros:
- Buffet breakfast at the restaurant is great, a huge selection of items. I was really concerned about the amount of wasteage however. People tend to take too much for some reason and just leave food wasted. We had dinner in the hotel as well - it is pricey
- The mall is huge, and has a very large food court with all the popular restaurants (hardees, pizza hut, burger king...etc)
- Kaaba view was awesome, they have live azan and prayer audio in your room

Cons:
- Long walk to the haram (although it's all indoors mostly)
- Location is too extravagant, it feels awkward going through a mall to get to the haram, you loose the sense of peacefulness. One may forget the purpose that they are in Makkah for (i.e. to do prayer) because of this.
- Finding the hotel for the first time through the mall can be challenging.

Room Tip: - Concierge will be able to get Zam Zam water for you and deliver it right to your room to take home...

From beginning to end it was awfull. Who ever that person is- middle aged and in a suit and calls himself the manager! Teach yourself how to deliver better excuses then to your staff if you cant deliver.
The room service asian guys are the only hard working dedicated staff to this highly respectful company. If your wise brains do click, trade them security officers for some indians and bangladeshis to give real service. Waste!
Very racist people too. Another city and id spit in all of your faces. Ok ish but no point staying in this hotel- if you want to then be prepared to be dissappointed and get yourself boiled up. Stay in dar al tawhid!! The shopping mall is a fitna too, i wouldnt want to walk through there on my way to haram. Many people should go easy on the dates! Just stay somewhere else man. Its crap.

Beautiful hotel...beautiful room, great location. We took a room with Kaabah view with extra charge. Comfortable bed, good water pressure. Close to Haram, the hotel have a piped-in audio from Haram, so every prayer time you'll hear the azan. Give yourself 10-15 minutes to get to Haram as there will be 2 lifts to take and a short walk in the mall. Buffet breakfast was great, a bit crowded around 630-700 am when people rushing back from the mosque/masjid. Very tight security, need to go through scanner like the airport to get to the lobby. It would be better if the hotel could clean the window, due to the location-dessert, the window all dusty. The view of Kaabah would have been better if the window is clear. We ate lunch & dinner outside as there were plenty of eating place around Haram. We normally ate at the food court at the mall, so many choices of cuisines. Overall we enjoyed our stay, will definitely come again in the future!

Room Tip: Get the room with Kaabah view, it is magnificent....

Unfortunately had a number of problems with newly constructed hotel. However staff were reasonably helpful. Would have enjoyed the sta more if it wasn't for the problems. Happy to stay again. Hope problems will be fixed soon

Room Tip: Allow enough time to get out as have to use two lifts

Alhumdullilah this was a lovely hotel. Great food and amazing location. Staff paid great attention despite it being Hajj. Did feel a bit guilty staying here but Being closer to the Haram meant we were able to stay there longer.
