I wouldn't reccomend the hotel. Perhaps some years ago it was great but in my opinión it is far from the 5 stars nowadays. The room wasn't clean and I found the carpets really old and worn. The U ROOF LOUNGE (the terrace bar at the top) was closed at the time I stayed at the hotel, which was a pitty since it was one of the main highlights. Some months later, I came back again to Amman and I had dinner at the terrace, which I could reccomend for a nice evening plan.

The Hotel has a good Dinning and Entertaiment offer, also with the TRADER VIC’S RESTAURANT & LOUNGE, and their Thursday's Salsa & Latin nights.

The worst experience was with the taxi to the airport. The Hotel told me they couldn't arrange a taxi, since all their drivers were busy. COME ON! Just call a taxi please! Finally I went out by my own and try to speak with the taxis were outside, bargaining and rejecting to set on the taximeter.

Generally speaking I could reccomend the hotel for that leisure aim but not for staying there.

Booked my flights with Dial a Flight and they offered me 10 nights at this hotel for not much more than the two star Ibis, which I was considering.
Not five star anymore but well positioned, good staff and public areas. Rooms ok for the deal price, had we have gone to the Ibis I doubt that we would have got the extras such as water fridge, toiletries, etc.
Very engaging staff, well appointed lounge and terrace. If you can get the deal go for it.
TIP. Don't get a taxi offered at the hotel. Walk out of the hotel onto the road and flag a yellow and green taxi down. Tell him where you want to go and insist on the meter being used. E.g. Hotel taxi 10JD, metered taxi 2JD. Big difference. We never paid any more than 2JD in Amman and often only 1JD.
TIP. Get a Jordanian Pass before you come. Includes your visa fee and most all sites, saves a fortune.

So far I've very much enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff are helpful and the location pretty central to the city centre. Travellers tip: pick up a Zain SIM 3 blocks south in a phone shop - inexpensive (16usd) and good service.

Had a pleasant two night stay at the hotel. It is rated as a five star hotel but is more of a three star plus property.
Our room on the 17th floor was fitted with classic style furnishings, had a comfortable bed, was clean, had effective air conditioning and good views of Amman. The bathroom was fit for purpose but was in need of upgrading. The breakfast and dinner buffet served in the All Madafa restaurant had a good choice of local and international dishes and a fair selection of wines. Service wasn't all that good but the waiters were young and needed a little more experience in table management.
The U roof lounge on the 21st floor is a must visit for an evening cocktail as you watch the sun go down on Amman. Its extremely modern, very popular with local people, has a DJ playing international modern music and is reasonably priced.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel
