We stayed here at the end of a very busy week in Jorden and it was a perfect place to rest up and relax in. Great swimming pools and gardens and according to some other guests the spa was also excellent. Breakfasts were of a very high standard and the Cafe and the rooftop restaurant were very good value for money. The staff were very very helpful and I enjoyed my stay there. Fast food outlets very close to the hotel if junk food turns you on!

Hotel itself is quite old, though some of the rooms were upgraded recently. Stayed there for one week attending a conference.
Location: Great restaurants nearby (7 minutes walk informed by reception), very close to a souk/shopping center/carrefour, hotel is easily accessible by taxi, and from/to airport.
Accommodation: Despite request for a non-smoking room, it seems that all hotel rooms are smoking (non-smoking meant special housekeeping non-smoking treatment of the room), two days after got home, my luggage case still smells of smoke!! bed is very comfortable - a great bonus, guests can request free lavendar essential oil to spray on pillows or bedsheets, nice touch! Internet is on the expensive side, room soundproof is average, bathroom is a bit small.
Food and Beverage: Tried all restaurants in the hotel, thought the staff were excellent, best restaurant have to be the syrian restaurant on roof top with amazing breath-taking view of 7 hills, and Amman! price is above average, though you won't regret it just for the view and atmosphere!!
Service: Hotel service is prompt, polite and professional, the swimming pool/health center is bit run-down, need further refurbishment, but pool and tennis court is quite nice. We used the hotel rental car service, it was excellent and staff very friendly. though price is obviously much more expensive than outside. We were busy with the conference, so didn't care to pay the extra for convinience to visit Dead sea, etc.

Why 2-star? on the ground floor (beside reception desk) there is a small gift/local craft shop, DON"T WASTE Money there, first of all, price is much more expensive than the souk close to the hotel (you have much more options and selection!), secondly, there were a lot of fake jewellery (not the real stuff they claim it to be - i.e. tourmaline stones), thirdly, shop tried to cheat customers over exchange rate!! Be aware, its not only they have a higher exchange rate than the hotel reception desk, but also charges extra for exchange there!! found such practice very nasty and total let down to the whole hotel experience. Complained to the hotel duty manager, was told that they can't do anything about it as shop is owned by hotel owner's friend!! Intercontinental hotels need to investigate further, as such mafia like behavior cannot be tolerated!!

Room Tip: Insist on non-smoking room, as well as recently upgraded rooms!! not rooms on 2nd or 3rd floor!!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights (first night we didn't arrive unitil 1.30am) during our recent tour of Jordan. The room was very clean, plenty of toiletries. Breakfast was very good. Only downer was that I couldn't have waffles (my favourite holiday breakfast) as the waffle maker wouldn't heat up. We didn't have dinner at the hotel so unable to comment on food. There were plenty of sunbeds round the swimming pool. This was a very short stay however we were very pleased with the service.

My office keeps reserving this hotel for me due to its proximity to the residence of my Deputy. This is probably the last time over a span of a year that I will accept staying at this hotel for the following reasons:

I had a reservation for a Club room, reservation # 9964517. I made the mistake of not printing out the e-mailed reservation from the hotel itself and bringing it with me. On check in they had no record. And this is, first and foremost, my problem with this hotel. The front desk clerks are simply incompetent. But the upside was that after they gave me the standard rate I learned the difference was 30JD per night for a Club room. What do you get for a Club room? Privileges to a Club lounge that is as interesting and cozy as Hitler's Bunker, a newspaper worth half a dinar a day (if they remember to leave it at your room), and free internet, which y9u can purchase for 12JD a day (overpriced because by the time you read an e-mail and respond the service has gone into hibernation, compelling you to block copy your composed response, exit the email by opening another tab and then back to your e-mail after waking up the service, paste your response in and send)!

I was awakened at 03.30 by talking in the adjoining room and had to bang on their door to get them to shut up. The next day my office called to complain and the next afternoon - a day later - I had an offer slipped under my door to move me. Since I was checking out the next day, I decided not to move. Bad decision. I was awoken again at 01.00h. The only upside to this sad affair is that I got a lot of work done on my laptop two nights in a row of a four night stay.

The breakfast room is still a disaster. Besides being dark and dingy, it's simply not large enough to accommodate all the guests so you're shoved up against your neighbor and their conversation. The other habit that gripes me about this place is the constant seeking to remove your plate while you still have food on it. All you have to do is put down your utensils and some server is grabbing your plate, compelling you to grab another plate to go through the hot buffet. You would think they have a shortage of dishes and they have to get it to the dishwasher. And this in a water critical shortage country!

Room service and housekeeping staff are friendly. The rooms have been redecorated but still smell like smoke.
