Hi to one and all,

I know this is is a review about the hotel but i would first like to briefly write how much i enjoyed and appreciated my trip to Jordan it was incredible and so were the people as my title explains anyway back to the hotel.

Firstly when one is looking to budget their holiday in order to accommodate all the different activities and excursions Jordan has to offer, then for me the Arab Tower Hotel is a perfect place to start. It should cost you no more than 20 JD to catch a taxi from the airport to the hotel and once you arrive you go up a flight of stair past a street stall and walk inside the main foyer where you will be greeted by either Mr Rafat Ali or his colleague who speak good english and are very welcoming. We stayed here for four nights in a double room intially and came back for another two nights and were kindly upgraded to a suite which gave my cousin and i separate rooms with lounge area and two ensuite shower rooms (If available). When researching the hotel on Trip advisor i saw a promotion left by the owner of the hotel giving an extra 10% of the room price if i emailed the hotel directly, which i did and was honoured when got there. Its based in the downtown area of Hashemi St where it is good for shopping bazaars restaurants etc can get quite busy but i feel it adds to the charm of the old area of Amman.

The Room
They will get you checked in very promptly so you can then have your bags taken up by the porter, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the en suite bathroom is also clean and does have soap and sachets of shampoo and most importantly they provide fresh clean towels everyday when your room is cleaned. The room has a fridge stocked with water and juices and chocolate bars all at reasonable rates compared to street prices, which can be very convenient if you need water in a hurry as i found drinking water on a regular basis is very necessary. The room also has basic satellite channels most of which are arabic but there are a few dedicated western movie channels that if needed helped pass the time.

The service
As mentioned before, the hospitality is amazing, The staff were always asking if everything was ok or did i need any help with arranging trips. They would always make calls for me to car hire companies or places of business where i wanted to go to find out information. To me its the small things such as being asked to watch the football and drink some tea together it felt as though we were friends rather than hotel guests.

The breakfast is served from 7am to 10 am and is served on the roof which overlooks the downtown area which is very nice first thing in the morning. The breakfast consisted of a freshly cooked omelette, toast with individual butter, jam, honey, arab bread (Khubez), tea and coffee.

Overall
To break down my review, the hotel was lovely perfect for my needs and wants it was economical friendly and gave me a good platform for planning the rest of my trip. I come from London and am used to all my creature comforts but even though this hotel was not the usual kind of place i would stay, it and the staff made my cousin and i feel very comfortable and happy.

Hope my review was helpful and informative

thanks

Osman & Emad (Sheikh)

Room Tip: If you want natural light in your room coming in in the morning then ask for a room facing the street but remember the area can be busy and there may be noise.

We stayed here for 3 nights in september 2012, two nights when we arrived and one night on our way back to england. This hotel is very well positioned in the midst of the downtown district.

Our first two nights were in a very large room with a lounge and two bathrooms which was spacious and good.

The breakfast is the best we had in Jordan as they serve omlettes and have toast :o)

The staff are very helpful and knowledgable, and the hotel is a very short walk from the ampitheatre and the Citadel which is up behind the hotel at the top of the hill, both of these are well worth a visit.

On our last night in the hotel we were put in a small room with two single beds and lots of ants, but as we were only there overnight we weren't that bothered.

I have seen some reviews saying the rooms are noisy, but what do people expect Amman is a city that never sleeps and this hotel is in the heart of it, the noise was not excessive and didn't bother us.

Room Tip: Breakfast is on the 7th floor we stayed on the 2nd for 2 nights which was a good room and 1 night on the first floor with the ants....

Quite nice and clean city hotel for rather budget travellers. The location was good and convient for visiting the city center. A lot of restaurants, cafes and shops in the nearby. The staff at the front desk were friendly. The room are a little bit basic but enough equiped and spacious for short therm stay. The bathroom was ok but not modern.

Arab Tower Hotel gave us a great room at a great price. The toilets are interesting, if small. But, that speed heater was pretty damn cool. The location is a short walk from many of downtown Amman's attractions.

The night shift desk person - Rafat is well spoken and very willing to give good advice about Jordan.
