“Great location, nice buffet, but small rooms”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2012

We spent the first two nights in Israel at this hotel chosen by our travel agent. The location was great, right across from the beach. The room was very snug and I have no idea how a larger person would use the bathroom as it was tricky enough for us. The bed is two small beds pushed together. The hotel was clean and the breakfast buffet was quite expansive with a lot to choose from with a lot of fresh fruit. The lobby was very modern looking and the staff inside were friendly, but the security man outside was not so much.

Room Tip: Ask for a larger room because the other rooms are quite small. If you can get a package deal with th...

I stayed there with my husband and two babies (2 months and 19-months) during the last two nights of the peach holiday. To our delight, we received an extra large room where there was plenty of space for two baby cribs. The cribs were made with baby-themed sheets which gave us a sense of being home while away. In addition, since the room was big, there was plenty of space for our toddler to play with his "cars".
The variety of the restaurant was wide enough to satisfy both my toddler's picky appetite as well as mine. The staff was of high standard, ranging from the cleaners to the senior staff, including the supervisor, Kobi Perlstein, and the CEO, Eitan Ochana. Both of them asked and provided for our well-being before and during our stay at the hotel. The staff was extra attentive to the needs of my chidren. For example, the restaurant staff let my son "play" with the computer while we enjoyed the food.

We selected this hotel for a spring holiday in the sun. We were looking for a hotel that was close to the beach and also had a pool. This hotel ticked all the boxes - on paper it had everything we needed.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, answering our many questions and doing what they could to ensure we had a pleasant stay.

We opted to have breakfast included, which was a good decision. It was a typically large Israeli breakfast with a wide range of things to eat. My one criticism of the food was that the fruit wasn't particularly ripe. We ate at the bar a few times too - the food tasted good and was a similar price to other restaurants.

The location has positives and negatives. Being near the beach it is also on a busy road. We changed rooms after the first night so that we could have a room at the back of the hotel, which made a big difference in cutting down the road noise. (The first room also smelled of cigarette smoke, which was reduced when we opened the window) The hotel is within walking distance of Ben Yehuda and Dizengoff streets, which are good for shops and restaurants. It's also a mile from the port - again walking distance - for more shops and restaurants.

The bedrooms are small, and the bathroom is a great example of what you can fit into a small space. Don't choose this hotel if you plan on spending much time in your room. The hotel also has free wi-fi that covers all the floors and also works outside.

Our main issue with the hotel is the lack of sound insulation. Be it the Russian in the room next-door having a loud telephone conversation at 11pm, the Spanish couple arriving back from dinner very loudly at midnight, or the small children running up and down the corridor at 8am we found it difficult to get some real peace and quiet when trying to sleep. The walls are thin, as are the floors and ceilings. So I guess the quietest room would be in the corner, at the back, on the top floor. But there's only one of those!

Room Tip: The quietest room would be in the corner, at the back, on the top floor. There isn't a view but...

We have stayed in this hotel many times and this was the first time during Pesach. We feel at home when we are there. The staff are very kind and helpful and the service is excellent. We would also like to add that the food in the dinning room was of excellent class. We recommend this hotel 100 % for other people.
