Even with all the time I spend in Israel it's difficult to get used to sub par service and general dinginess even at great restaurants.

Luckily Hatraklin Blew away my expectations. In every way, they excelled. Service was top notch. Our waiter could have worked in the best restaurants in Manhattan. Attentive without being annoying and so easily switched between Hebrew and English that you almost wondered if he was a native Israeli.

The food was plated beautifully. Veggies were super fresh and the meats were of the very best quality.

Don't miss the Steak Tartare or the Carpaccio. Both exceptional dishes.

Both salads were also great. The Caesar better in my opinion with home made croutons and loaded with Parmesan Cheese.

Be prepared to pay for their focaccia as bread is not included. No sodas are available for purchase. Only still and fizzy water and lemonade (plus a full bar).

We left full and pleased. This is a great restaurant by all standards and I can not recommend it highly enough.

This restaurant was AMAZING. Natalie our waitress was so knowledgeable about all of the wine and food and made our visit extremely special. We had 2 amazing bottles of wines, the antipasti veggies, Moroccan bread, the Moroccan cigar special, Sicily charcuterie, roka steak, ribeye, the malabie dessert, and the chocolate ball dessert. Everything was unreal and we would definitely go back!!

It's very nice in the main building but we were seated in the backyard which was dark, dingy and had electric heaters to keep us warm.
The setting was similar to a big marquee.

The beef tartar, Moroccan break and fillet was all excellent.

The boutique Israeli wine however was not to our liking- too jammy/ sweet.A glass for 54 shekels is also too much for very average wine.

They had a computer glitch at the end of the meal and took 20mins to get the bill- we walked up to the cashier.

The wine and the seating at the back yard were a let down.

Please note they also add a tip in the bill which unless you ask them to explain you will not be aware of it and pay for service twice! It's i thinks about 15%.

Traklin certainly lived up to the hype. Located in a 100+ year old house that’s full of ambiance, I can’t recommend it highly enough. Our server was terrific...attentive without being in our face. His wine suggestions were spot on. When I couldn’t decide between the pate or the beef tartare, he brought me both. Both were delicious, but the tartare was easily the best I’ve ever had.
For the main, I ordered the sirloin that you sear on a hot stone, their signature dish, and it too was delicious.
The bill came to a bit over 600nis, including a couple of glasses of wine and tip... Well priced, in my opinion.

Thank Michael G
