(jul and nov 11)

I was there twice in 211.
Hotel is quite nice, with terrace, solarium and daily free massage and newspapers in english.

Staff:
friendly and helpful... except the owner (I guess, the old man that is usually on reception in the early morning) that seems grumpy... especially if you ask him to call a taxi from a company that has no agreement with the hotel (and that costs less than the taxi they offers).

Room: july room was very nice, november was a lot smaller but I paid the same price... and when I asked why they say that july one was an exception as they were full. All rooms were with sea allure and furnitures in shades of light blue and white.

Bed: very confortable.

Minibar: empty. You must go to a neighbour small market to buy something (afternoon staff will direct you to a cheap one that is very near).

Toilet: small but good, some with shower other with bathtube. Rooms with shower were smaller.

Breakfast area & breakfast: breakfast area is nice, with few tables of various kind and size. In it they serve breakfast and - when planned - the appetizers and drinks included in the "happy hour". Continental breakfast is quite good, including cow and sheep milks and yoghurts, omelettes, various kind of vegetables, etc...

Sun terrace: very nice... and you can enjoy a good sight of the sky and sea, even if interrupted by the Hilton buliding.

Booking and payment:
booking was done by a local contact with an agreed price on both my stays... The local contact ask me to cancel my reservation as the price I can obtain from him can be lower... at the end this lower price was without taxes, mine was with and so I payd around 10 EUR more on each night. So doublecheck if prices are with or without tax. Moreover on the first stay, at checkout they asked me a lot more money than agreed price (+20-25% +tax over the increased price). When I show them the confirmation fax they needed around 20 minutes to solve the issue to my (partial) satisfaction (agreed price + tax on the previously overpriced price).
This was totally unexpected, especially because in November the agreed price was the same as for end of july/beginning of august and I was fully aware of the +tax.
...It's true that the hotel expenses are on my company and not on me... so it is a problem only if you don't respect the budget...

Around area: a park, a beach, some shops and by 5 minutes walk very good restaurants (ask the staff for "Babunia" if you like fish or "Benedict" if you like eggs & breafast food served all day)

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with bathtube, they are usually bigger than the one with shower. And check if the room...

We stayed at the Shalom in Tel Aviv on 3 separate occasions for a day or two each time - bouncing in and out of ancient sites and steadying ourselves in a modern city to remind that we are not living a dozen centuries ago. The Shalom - for us - was perfect. The staff delightful, the breakfast surpassed the usual wonderful Israeli breakfast not only in taste, but presentation; the bed was like sleeping in a fresh cloud; it was convenient; the rooms were beautifully appointed and as we came on different occasions, we had different rooms and each was good. We live far away from Israel and maybe we will not ever get back - and if that is the case - well, our loss is not having the opportunity to stay at the Shalom. I would truly say it was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed. Thank you Shalom!

Room Tip: Well, we were advised when we booked to be higher rather than lower because of street noise but that...

We stayed here on our last night to Israel. We only had one night in Tel Aviv and have to catch an early flight the next day. This place was suggested and booked by our travel agency, JJ Travel in Israel. We were not disappointed as we got a free upgrade to a suite with jacuzzi.

The room has a very modern design but homey design. We are even inspired to design our own bedroom in the future like the room here in Shalom Boutique Hotel. The room is also equipped with an internet TV/cable with wireless keyboard and mouse.

The lobby and rooftop was equally inviting. The staff aswell were very friendly and accommodating, also giving us some complimentary surprise which made our stay all more delightful.

The location was near the port docks which had several boutique stores and good restaurants. It was also a few minutes walk to the Marina on the other end.

A great way to end our stay in Israel. Shalom!

Dear Guest,

We are very flattered that the design and décor of our rooms would inspire you to model you own bedroom after it. As well we are glad to hear you were able to make it up to our roof top terrace as it offers a beautiful view of the sea. We are happy that we were able to offer you an enjoyable and upbeat way to end your trip.

Our friends recommended this hotel to us. We were very happy with the recommendation. We were told to request a room in the back of the hotel because it was quieter there. Our request was granted. There are a few different sizes of rooms in the hotel. Fortunately the room we stayed in was a decent size for the hotel and compared to the other hotels we had stayed at during our visit to Israel. The bathroom was spacious too. Our bathroom had an oval shaped tub/shower. There were no robes or slippers in the room. The bathroom had a blow dryer. The hotel had a buffet breakfast everyday which was delicious with a wide variety of foods. The staff in the dining room was very accommodating and quick to get a coffee or eggs for us. The staff at the front desk was helpful too, making reservations at the museums or restaurants for us. The free 15 minute massage was delightful! We had a late flight out and they let us have a late checkout for an additional amount. We were happy to pay it in order to be able to have the room until 7pm.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the front of the hotel which is on a main street.
