We stayed at the Shalom in Tel Aviv on 3 separate occasions for a day or two each time - bouncing in and out of ancient sites and steadying ourselves in a modern city to remind that we are not living a dozen centuries ago. The Shalom - for us - was perfect. The staff delightful, the breakfast surpassed the usual wonderful Israeli breakfast not only in taste, but presentation; the bed was like sleeping in a fresh cloud; it was convenient; the rooms were beautifully appointed and as we came on different occasions, we had different rooms and each was good. We live far away from Israel and maybe we will not ever get back - and if that is the case - well, our loss is not having the opportunity to stay at the Shalom. I would truly say it was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed. Thank you Shalom!

Room Tip: Well, we were advised when we booked to be higher rather than lower because of street noise but that is similar anywhere. The lovely thing at the Shalom is that it is possible to open the windows and enjoy fresh air.

We stayed here on our last night to Israel. We only had one night in Tel Aviv and have to catch an early flight the next day. This place was suggested and booked by our travel agency, JJ Travel in Israel. We were not disappointed as we got a free upgrade to a suite with jacuzzi.

The room has a very modern design but homey design. We are even inspired to design our own bedroom in the future like the room here in Shalom Boutique Hotel. The room is also equipped with an internet TV/cable with wireless keyboard and mouse.

The lobby and rooftop was equally inviting. The staff aswell were very friendly and accommodating, also giving us some complimentary surprise which made our stay all more delightful.

The location was near the port docks which had several boutique stores and good restaurants. It was also a few minutes walk to the Marina on the other end.

A great way to end our stay in Israel. Shalom!

Dear Guest,

We are very flattered that the design and décor of our rooms would inspire you to model you own bedroom after it. As well we are glad to hear you were able to make it up to our roof top terrace as it offers a beautiful view of the sea. We are happy that we were able to offer you an enjoyable and upbeat way to end your trip.

Our friends recommended this hotel to us. We were very happy with the recommendation. We were told to request a room in the back of the hotel because it was quieter there. Our request was granted. There are a few different sizes of rooms in the hotel. Fortunately the room we stayed in was a decent size for the hotel and compared to the other hotels we had stayed at during our visit to Israel. The bathroom was spacious too. Our bathroom had an oval shaped tub/shower. There were no robes or slippers in the room. The bathroom had a blow dryer. The hotel had a buffet breakfast everyday which was delicious with a wide variety of foods. The staff in the dining room was very accommodating and quick to get a coffee or eggs for us. The staff at the front desk was helpful too, making reservations at the museums or restaurants for us. The free 15 minute massage was delightful! We had a late flight out and they let us have a late checkout for an additional amount. We were happy to pay it in order to be able to have the room until 7pm.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the front of the hotel which is on a main street.

Having read the previous reviews, I was expecting something great, but overall my one night stay was quite a let down compared to the price paid.

Pros: Friendly staff at check-in, great breakfast, good location.

Cons: Small room, lack of aminities (ie no bath ropes or slippers), very small bed.

Overall, I got the impression that the ambition level their pricing aspires for is not quite met by the value for money.

The room was seriously small holding just a tiny bed and a desk. The acclaimed queen bed would barely qualify for a single in any 4 star property in Europe or the US. The bathroom had only a shower and the interior was looking quite drab and unkempt on the edges.

As my flight was leaving during the night, my request for having access to facilities for freshning up, was met with a "you can have a late check-out until 7 pm for 50% of your room price". For hotels of this standard, I would expect such a service to be a courtesy provided there is availability.

The breakfast was really a high ligth with a great buffet as well as a complimentary a la carte selection. Especially their juices were good.

Accommodation in Tel Aviv is pricey, however, I can hardly find it worth the premium to stay at this place. They try hard to maintain a boutique atmosphere but fail in the detail making your money better spend elsewhere.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your honest feedback regarding your stay at the Shalom Hotel and Relax. We value guest comments and use them to constantly make improvements to the hotel. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our breakfast, central location in the city and were pleased with our staff. We are sorry to hear you felt disappointed that you were unable to stay in the room 7 hours later than the check out time. However we must point out that no hotel would allow a 7 hour extension free of charge. If there is availability in the hotel we may be able to extend the check out time for an hour or two without charge. We thank you for choosing the Shalom Hotel and relax and we hope you had a pleasant stay in Tel Aviv.
