“High value for a decent price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2012

Convenient location. Beautiful and spacious rooms. Ideal for family stays. Very helpful staff.
There is no breakfast served, but this was not a big issue for us, found a good cafe just around the corner.

Thank you for posting your opinion!

As you have mentioned, the hotel does not have food or beverage facilities within its
premises, but offers a verity of breakfast options for its guests.

As you wrote, the guests are provided with complementary cookies, coffee and Israeli
orange juice in the rooms. There is also free espresso available in the lobby at any time,
served with a smile.

In addition, "The Diaghilev" also offers breakfast vouchers for several restaurants in the
neighborhood, all known for their extraordinary culinary level.

We are also about to launch our new café in a few month, which will be serving food and
drinks of the same high quality expected from the best hotel in Tel-Aviv!

Best regards,
The Diaghilev Team

Dear Albertoroma72Marzo,

We are always happy to receive any kind of reviews, positive or negative, if they are true to fact.
In your case, our team felt very disappointed and saddened, since your points are far from the truth.

In your reservation managed through booking.com, you have requested an early check in before 12:00 (noon). Although the official check in time is 3PM, wishing to compromise, we advised you by email that we were ready to check you in earlier, in a case of availability free of charge.
One can imagine how astonished our front desk representative was, seeing 4 of you at the hotel already at 4AM (11hours prior to our official check in time). Normally, we had the right to request the rate of whole night stay, but taking into consideration the circumstances, you were offered to pay half of the night rate to be immediately checked in.
Hearing that you started blackmailing us, you threatened to write a very negative review that will damage our reputation if we don't check you in immediately FREE OF CHARGE.
Seems that by posting this review, you fulfilled your threat.
I would like to emphasize that you checked out from the hotel almost 3 hours after our official check out time with no surcharge.

Two days later, one of you have contacted the hotel directly wishing to make a new reservation. Front desk manager, who happened to be at the hotel when you called, decided to clarify what was going on: why would a person that posted one of the worst reviews we have ever got wish to return?

The person that called said it must have been a misunderstanding, that you were impressed by us, wished to stay in our hotel again and will get in touch with TripAdvisor to remove the review.

Upon your second arrival, you started misbehaving and blackmailing us again, and you were asked to leave the hotel.

I am wondering: Perhaps it is something you do often in your travels, but were we really supposed to tolerate such an attitude?

Indulging our guests is our passion! Our staff is always doing its best to satisfy our guests, aiming to provide a unique hospitality experience by creating a pleasant atmosphere of home away from home.
It is such a delight for us discovering new reviews of pleased guests, who truly enjoyed our spacious suites, our unique design and our devoted, friendly and welcoming staff.
Being appreciated by so many guests is an objective indicator for us that we are on the right way, and we promise to keep improving for our guests.

We wish you all the best,
The Diaghilev Team

My wife and I were in Israel for 3 weeks, and our favorite place to stay by far was the Diaghilev. From the time we arrived, we were treated as old and valued friends. The staff consists of young, knowledgeable artists in various disciplines who are natural in working with guests. When we told the staff that my wife had lost her camera at the airport or in a taxi, they did everything possible to help us retrieve it. We had become accustomed to indifferent service at our previous 5 star and 4 star hotels, an oft heard complaint in Israel. The opposite is true at the Diaghilev.

The rooms are spacious and inviting. We had a spacious living room, a comfortable bedroom, the best shower, a nice kitchen area, and a place to store our suitcases. Their bathroom products are the best. We had an expresso machine in our room, and the staff made sure we had orange juice, milk, and snacks available.

Although the hotel is not located near the beach and does not serve breakfast, it is centrally located, and several great restaurants are close by. The staff recommended Benedicts for breakfast, which was a real find, and Mifgash Steak for dinner, a great local Kosher place for Israeli salads and foods.

We visited Petra during our stay in Tel Aviv and were gone for 2 nights. The staff made it very easy or us to leave most of out belongings in a secure storage area in the hotel. (The hotel also has a convenient parking garage right next to it.)

You will also be offered free wi-fi, another added benefit.

We stayed at the Diaghilev because it was rated no .1 on Trip Advisor, but were still wary as to whether it could live up to its rating. I was fully satisfied with our experience at the Diaghilev and would recommend it without any hesitation or reservations if you will be staying in Tel Aviv.

Thank you for your splendid review! Reading such a positive opinion of the hotel and its staff
is the best reward we could have asked for our efforts to please.

We do our best to anticipate and fulfill all of our guest's needs – The free Wi-Fi and the
underground garage are a necessity in the hectic city, and the creative and helpful staff is
the heart of the hotel.

It is wonderful to know you had such a great stay in "The Diaghilev", and you are more than
encouraged to come back to the hotel and think of us as you welcoming home in Tel-Aviv.

See you soon,
The Diaghilev Team

This was our first stop in Israel for two nights. Excellent friendly staff, large clean room (suite) with kitchenette, wonderful bathroom amenities (loofah soap, bathrobes, washclothes) hotpot to make tea or instant coffee and an unopened milk in the refrigerator. Baked treats provided on the kitchen counter. Also free wi-fi for as many devices as we wished (we got three.) And the price is much lower than the high rise hotels at the beach. The lobby is comfortable for sitting to plan your day - they have carafes of drinking water and travel books on the tables, and they will offer you espresso! The only potential negative is the underground parking garage - small cars fit best! I would definitely return here.

My family went to Israel in February 2012, and when in Tel Aviv we stayed at Diaghilev. It was perfect. Our room was huge and suite style with plenty of space to accomodate the 5 of us (3 kids). The beds were very comfortable, the whole hotel seemed very clean, the staff was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The location is great. It's right near Rothchild Blvd which is so pleasant to walk on an has great food venues. The hotel is a short walk to the very practical Allenby street as well. It's not a short walk to the beach, but it is an easy cab ride. There is on site parking in case you rent a car. You can also bike or maybe bus to the beach.
We actually stayed there twice during our visit. Room prices were reasonable (cheaper than getting 2 standard size hotel rooms somewhere else nice). We would definitely stay there again and recommend it for sure, especially if you don't mind not staying right by the beach.

Thank you for staying in the hotel, and for taking the time to write such a lovely review!

You have written about our friendly-rated room options - The hotel offers 54 spacious suites,
up from 44 meter square for the smallest one, which can comfortably accommodate up to
three people. We also have two types of family suites, which are very roomy enough for up
to six people!

You have also mentioned the hotel's central location – We are five minutes away from
Rothschild Blv, and within a short bus or taxi drive away from the beach and other Tel-
Avivian attractions. The hotel's staff is also always happy to advice about all transportation
options, and is very savvy about car rental and public transportation across Israel.

All together we offer a different experience than the chain-hotels, located on the beach –
Not so much a touristic, but an urban one, allowing you to enjoy the authentic side of Tel-
Aviv.

Warm regards,
The Diaghilev Team

The Diaghilev is a bohemian boutique hotel that offers an extraordinary and exceptional cultural experience intensified by an excellent personal service. The toiletries at the Diaghilev are of outstanding quality. They are produced from natural materials created from plants cultivated for this purpose in the hills of Jerusalem.
