“Always the unexpected”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2012

The Old City is--need one say this?--the bustling, historic, slightly mad place that it has always been. I tried to stay away from more traditional tourist spots, going instead to the Austrian hostel and observing the movement of people. Needless to say, any visitor to Jerusalem should visit the old city.

“An experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2012

I am not a religious person in any way, but the historical significance of the Old City is not to be missed. It means something to so many people of different beliefs. One should be aware of the hills within the city; up and down, it is not an easy walk. Highlights are the Dome of the Rock, the Western Wall, The Seplechre Church, the side streets, the food, and people watching. A bucket list experience.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2012

Always something new to see even if you have been there before. Wander round on foot and you will find lovely museums, cafes, squares. Also plenty of walking tours for all types. The streets are usually stone or cobble type so good walking shoes required. There are easy walking tours if you cannot manage too many steps. No better place to be.
