Inbal Jerusalem Hotel
Ranked #6 of 102 Hotels in Jerusalem
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 26 July 2012

Been here for a month now. Almost time to go home.

Pros: 10-15 walk to the Old City.

Cons: It's the small details that hold me back from giving it five stars;
The silverware, glasses and plates at breakfast always looked clean but upon closer inspection always had some leftover food on them. One morning the coffee cup still had lipstick on it. Yuck.
The 7th floor is currently being remodeled; this means much jackhammering and other construction noise Sunday-Thursday between the hours of 9 and 5. Much of that noise reverberates thru the walls and is clearly heard on the other floors. The quietest rooms will be on the 5th floor between 529 and 571.
The Inbal is a Kosher hotel so food service is very limited on Shabbat (Friday night-Saturday night), Cafe Paradiso is the only non-kosher restaurant within a 10 minute walk of the hotel, as such they will be very busy. Other non-kosher restaurants that will be open on Shabbat and are reasonable distances away are the Restobar and Babil (near The Barrel pub).
Lots of tour groups and kids at the hotel and I wish the staff and security were more willing to ask/tell kids who are running and screaming in the hallways and lobby to stop.

You can do laundry cheap by walking two block up the hill on Jabotinsky to Star Laundry. They aren't gentle on your clothes though so if you have anything delicate of that you don't want to shrink and wrinkle in their normally ultra-hot dryers you should ask them to dry on low heat.

A little farther up Jabotinsky at the intersection and corner of David Marcus (traffic circle) there is a decent barber/salon for haircuts.

Room Tip: Currently (end of July '12) the 7th floor is being remodeled; this means much jackhammering and...

Dear Tatoo2

I would like to thank and commend you for taking the time to write such a comprehensive survey of the area. It will no doubt be very useful to other travelers. Our guest comments are invaluable to us as they are our guidelines for monitoring and further developing the services we offer . Your comment concerning the dishes, was taken aboard and shall be meticulously inspected and revised.

The inbal hotel strives for excellence, inevitably leading to refurbishments and upgrades. We try to ensure that we minimize the disruption to our guests by carrying out work during times when the majority of guests are out of the hotel. Unfortunately, this may not be always the case and we apologize that this seems to have caused unsatisfactory disturbance for you.

We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you back in the future in a nicely refurbished room so that you may enjoy the new surroundings.

I booked three rooms at The Inbal for my brother's family and myself,as part of my annual religious trip to Jerusalem.
What a delight to arrive, have the kids attended to so I could sort out all the formalities while they were packed off to the pool.FOUR OF THEM
The reception clerk-Lina explained everything succinctly. And I met one of the most efficient yet friendly Guest Relations Manager-Sandra Haziza. She advised me(correctly)on the best places to visit with such a large family, the restaurant -Rosa- my requirement was for it to be child friendly with ample choice for the adults to savour their meal.
Breakfast was a typical vast Israeli offering, overwhelming your palate actually.Delicious.
Needless to say the Pool and burgers were a hit with the entire family. This hotel will be my only choice in Jerusalem.

Lovely pool, plenty of tanning beds.
Beautiful patio
Spacious room, carpet in good shape.
Bath could use a renovation.
Large variety at breakfast, though dining room quite busy this time of year.
Overall very good experience

The Inbal Hotel is well located and has everything you need--a wonderful breakfast buffet, a pool, a nice fitness room. The rooms are somewhat dated and there's a lot of activity in the lobby--people finding their tour groups, family reunions assembling. It's not a hotel for a romantic getaway, but otherwise fine. There is a nice rooftop bar if you spring for an "executive" room.
