This hotel embodies so much history, has wonderfully refurbished rooms on the 5th and 6th floors. Worth paying for a view of the old city. Especially to watch at sunset! Enjoy

Room Tip: 5th 6th floor facing old city

We stayed in the King David for 4 nights with high expectations and we were not disappointed. This is a first class experience from the time you pull up in the driveway until the time you leave. We had a new city view room which we had heard was small and old, which was certainly not the case. All of the people on our tour had modern and spacious rooms. The service could not be better. The pool, dining Rooms, terraces etc were wonderful.

A friend and I stayed in this hotel at the beginning of May, 2012. We were very disappointed. Initially, we were shown a very small room that had a view of the YMCA. We asked for an upgrade, and they did have a much larger room available for us for the same price. However, both rooms were definitely in need of attention. All of the surfaces (desk, closet doors, etc) needed to be cleaned, and the hotel did send housekeeping to our room to re-clean the surfaces. The minibar was filthy inside, and they cleaned that as well. Our room had a small couch which was so dirty that we didn't want to use it. Our bathroom was NOT spotless, and had a leaking faucet. It was repaired, but it took two trips by the maintenance personnel to fix it. The lobby area needed attention as well. The upholstery was stained and shabby looking.
The breakfast buffet was incredible - varied and delicious.
The front desk personnel were helpful, but the concierge we dealt with one evening was rude and not helpful.
There are many hotels to choose from in Jerusalem and I would suggest going elsewhere. This hotel is extremely expensive and not worth it. I don't consider myself a difficult client, but I do expect excellent service and clean rooms when paying over $500.00/night. We found neither at The King David.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the old city are preferable for the view.

This hotel is luxurious and has amazing staff, professional, helpful and friendly. a wonderful place to stay if you want to treat yourself.
There is only one little niggle. In Israel there seems to be free wi-fi virtually everywhere, from the cheapest cafe to even churches. So why does this hotel feel rhe need to charge an exorbitant amount (about £12 per day) for wi-fi? Seems a bit churlish after the amount we pay to stay there. Other than that small thing I couldn't fault it in any way.
