The spacious and most perfectly located apartment is a true gem, worth of five the stars and more. It is a literally 10 minute walk to either Jaffa or Zion gate of the old town Jerusalem. It’s enjoys a small private gardens with the seating area where you can enjoy your Java and look at the walls illuminated at night or basking in the sun during a day. The apartment is exquisitely equipped with top-of-the-line modern appliances including a stove, flat cooktop, dishwasher, washer on the dryer, microwave, and an espresso machine.
All this is very nice and would’ve made for a perfect stay already, but what truly made our stay wonderfully unique and special is the host, Ms. Salme. In our 30 years of travels, we have never met someone as nice, thoughtful and graciously understanding of our needs and preferences as Miss Salme.
She went above and beyond what could be expected, provided us with consumables that you normally would supply yourself, and days after we checked in, we kept finding little things she thoughtfully anticipated we might need. Miss Selma has also been a tremendous resource for local knowledge giving us fantastic recommendations for local dining wine, shopping, whatever we need it she would support us but always in the the most tactful way.
We could not have been happier with our choice of Sultan’s Refuge in Yemen Moshe. Thank you Miss Salme for making our stay so very special
It is no surprise to learn that Salme is an architect and interior designer. As well, she is welcoming and happy to pass on details of restaurants, shops etc.
Her eye for detail is everywhere, from the colourful Moroccan rugs to the antique cupboard, coffee machine and comfortable bed.
Although the apartment is really one large L- shaped room, wtth bathroom, it is very large, airy and comfortable.
The view from the front windows to the Jaffa Gate is amazing and the proximity to the old city perfect.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We spent 5 days and nights at Salme's wonderful apartment in Yemin Moshe Jerusalem. It was a wonderfully cool and calm retreat from the hectic tourism and a welcome relief after spending a week in hotels. We had views of the Old City from our windows and patio, and could easily walk everywhere from Machane Yehuda to the City Center to the Old City to the German Colony. The apartment was spacious and very well equipped with dishwasher, washer dryer and my favorite, a Nespresso machine, and we took advantage by eating many of our meals "at home." We enjoyed cooking for ourselves in the well equipped kitchen after shopping in Machane Yehuda and even had dinner al fresco in our patio on our last night in Jerusalem. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and the living room was spacious with three comfortable chairs and a sofa. There was even enough seating to invite guests for dinner. Two deep set lovely old windows gave beautiful views of the Old City and were large enough to sit in and read a book. The parking was only a few steps from the apartment--a nice surprise. I have always wanted to stay in Yemin Moshe, one of the oldest neighborhoods outside the walls of the old city and I was not disappointed. This was a wonderful experience. We would love to return and stay even longer and we hope Salme will have us again.
The typical tourist spends little time in an apartment or hotel room, and my husband and I were no exception. But we loved starting and ending jammed-packed days by coming home to this well-appointed apartment in Jerusalem's charming Yemin Moshe neighborhood. Quite simply, the place exceeded our expectations. Tastefully furnished, it is spacious, comfortable, immaculate, and has every modern convenience (including a washer/dryer). With a view of and 10-minute walk to the Old City’s Walls as well as walking distance to many area restaurants, sights, galleries and shops (including Mamilla Mall), the location is ideal. Salme is an incredibly gracious host, from welcoming us with a bowl of fruit and bottle of wine, to leaving a booklet with information about the apartment and resources in the neighborhood. We loved our stay here - our second in three years - and already look forward to the next time. Highly recommended!
First time using short term rentals rather than hotels. I'm sold!
The apartment amenities, furnishings and location are better than any five star hotel. Every last detail has been thought out, and designed to provide guest's a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Salme could not have been more hospitable and welcoming. I can't wait to return, but next time for longer stay!
