“One of the best in Eilat”
Reviewed 16 June 2012

Located just on the marina, having a beach just outside the hotel together with three swimming pools for adults and two more for kids, this is a great place for a summer vacation.
We took B&B and the breakfast was very good and Many different kinds of foods to choose from.
The room was quite big and clean, with view of the red see from the balcony.
Many restaurants and coffee houses nearby.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with a balcony since there is one floor where the rooms don't have balc...

We visited the hotel to attend a wedding and the hotel handled everything well. The room had a nice sea view even though the check in personnel tried to get us to upgrade to a sea view. The restaurant inside the hotel had good food but I am still confused as to how they serve both meat and dairy at the same table. They claim to have separate kitchens , oblates and silverware but I have never seen this before. The Asian restaurant which is part of the hotel but the entrance is on the boardwalk is a total disaster.

Shame on you Isrotel. The hotel "Royal Beach" is not, I repeat NOT a four or five star resort by any stretch of the imagination. Many of the facilities were closed or out of order and my wife and I were not comfortable. We were annoyed by the problems in our room and how not helpful the staff was in assisting us with the most simple thing such as being hot. It is Eilat. We want cool water to drink and air conditioning - but they don't even put ice machines on the floors or have climate control in the hallways. The only thing that was nice was the beach - and the red sea.

I never thought i would be posting a review like this on a travel website but please ask around to others who have been to this tourist trap. The only thing Five star about it is the price you pay. For that price there should be a jacuzzi for everyone to use for free - not to charge us extra to even see it.

Great hotel off season - quiet, clean, luxurious... Delete all mid season....
Once Eilat and the hotel itself are filled- hell on earth....
Not to mention the mid season prices....
The week after Passover, after Sha'vuot.... When the deals start, book it....
VIP rooms and service are worth off season prices- the view, the lounge...

It is with great sadness that I find myself having to write a bad review of what should be one of the best hotels in Israel. The reality is that this hotel relies on the jewish diaspora (of which I am one) and the fact that there is very limited competition for top hotels in the region, and, as a consequence, offers very poor levels of service, poor quality of rooms, poor quality of food, and overall what I would probably describe as at best a 3 star property.

As someone that travels every week for business, I have had the pleasure of staying in 5 star hotels around the world. Unfortunately, the Royal Beach is certainly not one of them.

I havent got the patience to list everything that needs to change, but as a taster, let me say that when the day starts with "hunt for the cutlery at breakfast" or "queue for the coffee" or "can we have a high chair for our son...which turns up when we are finishing our breakfast"....the list could go on and on.....

Should you really have to queue for 15 mins to check in and out of a 5 start hotel....??

The management should take a trip to a decent hotel anywhere in Europe or Asia and see how its done. Maybe then they would attract a few more people to the country and the region...or...maybe they just dont care cos its full anyway. I suspect the latter......shame!

Room Tip: If you have to go to this hotel, go for a room on the upper floors
