Ada Hotel was a great way to start off our trip to Turkey. The hotel arranged for transport to and from the airport. We stayed for 3 nights and the location is well located for visiting all the major sights in Sultanahmet (the old historic part of the city). We had the top floor room under the breakfast room and patio which had very nice views of the Sea of Mamara at the mouth of the Bosphorous. Right outside the hotel there is a mosque, which you get a very authentic experience 5 times a day when the call to prayer happens. It was a little annoying at 5:30am, but we got used to it.
The proprietor of the hotel was extremely kind and welcoming and went to great efforts to make sure that we comfortable and well accommodated. He personally showed us the room and all the amenities that it had. We had to laugh because we gave us a detailed demo of how to use the TV and satellite. Our room was extremely clean, had a hot-tube in the room, and a pretty crazy shower that sealed you inside something that resembled a space capsule and treated you to several methods of being sprayed by water. The rest of the bathroom was updated and modernized, which we appreciated for a hotel of this age. We also really enjoyed the complimentary tea every morning. Since it was our honeymoon, they treated us to a half bottle of wine, which we thought was a sweet touch.
The best part of the experience was the fantastic breakfast that was served on the top floor in the breakfast room. We were delighted to find such a large spread of food that catered to all varieties of palates - they had the traditional turkish breakfast with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, cheeses, olives, and several mezze plates. They also made sure to include breakfast options that catered to the more westernized and European palate.
All in all this was a fine boutique hotel that was warm and friendly. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to any of our friends or family.
