We stayed at a basement room. Clean and good bed, basic bathroom. No view.
Turkish buffet breakfast was good. Nice yogurts and fresh fruits and olives!
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Even better: Location: Sultan Ahmet: everyhing is on walking distance in the old town, Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia a stone throw away! area full with very nice restaurants for very reasonable prices! I would recommend this one who doesn't wish to stay in a five star deluxe hotel chain,

Room Tip: If you can: choose a room on the higher floors with a view!

Stayed here for 3 nights in early September.
Positives
- Fantasitc location you can walk to anywhere you want to go to and lots of restaurants within 2 mins
- Breakast buffet was nice typically Turkish but well presented
- We were given a balcony room (did not book one) and this was fantastic with a great view over the sea and the rooftops.

Negatives
- The room was really small -the bed was against the wall so one of us had trouble getting in and out
- The bed was really really creaky
- The air conditioning kept going off we kept having to call to reception where they had to "reset" something - quite annoying at nighttime
- The drains from the toilet really smelt and an application of bleach would not go amiss
- The cleaner kept leaving the window open after she had been (probably to combat the above) we found this a bit of a security risk.

Overall I guess you get what you pay for. This hotel was a good price and the location does go along way to overcome any negatives.

Stayed 4 nights at the Historia . Room adequate for our needs. Breakfast buffet okay. Loved the view from our balcony which allowed us to watch the ferry boats, cargo ships and cruise liners coming and going. Lots of little cafes/restaurants/bars close by. Area seemed safe for tourists. Very close to the Topkapi and Hagia Sophia. Local rail station just a few minutes walk away - 1 stop in to Sirkeci Station and then you are right by Galata Bridge.

Room Tip: Grateful for the sea view and balcony.
