We found this tiny restaurant by accident today, but enjoyed our lunch there very much! They truly have the best köfte in Istanbul. The service is really fast (they don‘t speak much English, but you can make it work). The salad was very fresh and so was the meat. They have two tables outside and a few inside. The restaurant is located on one of the bigger streets in Balat and I can definitely recommend it to you. Very well worth a visit!

We eat here almost daily when in Istanbul! This tiny gem is local and authentic, serving only a few tried and true dishes. The bean salad, lentil soup and meatballs are a perfect meal...and bread! Balat has our hearts, as does this family owned restaurant!

Arnavut means the place for Albanian (from google) I don't know if the owners are Albanian but the home made kofta and soup is something you will never forget

They only have a few menu items here so you need to like grilled meat, salad or soup... and bread. If you do like those then come eat here. It is a tiny locals place on a main street. Good gateway into Balat.

Great little hole in the wall, perfect for visiting Chora Church. Very little English is spoken but order the meatballs, tripe soup (amazing!) and the dessert (Balkan cake). They also have liver a few times a week apparently... Search up some reviews on these guys and it will explain it. Hidden gem!
