We (my wife, 11-month old son and I) stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in Aug 2012. We picked this over the W since it looked more family-friendly, which was confirmed by our pre-reservation interactions. The hotel's facade is quite spectacular in how it rises among a fairly affluent Istanbul suburb. The rooms were excellent - we were upgraded to a suite with a guest bathroom, kitchen and large terrace with breathtaking views of the Bosphorus and the Fatih bridge. The breakfast spread was great, and had the right blend of local flavors and evergreen favorites (I'm a big cereal buff, and wasn't disappointed). The amenities - pool, gym, spa - are excellent. Service was great too - we once had an issue with our living room TV, and they sent someone to fix it within 5 minutes. And he fixed it within a couple of minutes!
Only downside is the location, which is somewhat far from the sights - Taksim and Sultanahmet. There is a free shuttle on weekends which goes to the Metro station (<10 minute ride), from where these places are within 10-15 minutes. We also took cabs a few times which cost 25 TL (approx $14) to get to the city center. Not bad, overall - would definitely stay here again if given the opportunityMore
