Providing your main criteria is price+quality+location+service, than look no further as this is IT! As a Platinum member and having travelled extensively round the world both for business and pleasure, I have yet to stay at a better "overall" hotel in a major city. Delightfully, very neatly furnished comfortable rooms, 'user friendly' spotlessly clean bathrooms with rain showers, utmost attentive staff ready to please, coupled with fantastic views etc. Oh, the beds were heaven on a cloud! There was even an whimsical poem placed on the windows about Istanbul! Nice touch. This brand new gem is easily accessable from Ataturk airport and right smack by that gorgeous waterway The Bosphorus. The views from the rooms are ever so romantic looking at the mesmerizingly beautiful old city silhoutte and adjacent to the hotel is a suspension bridge lined up as a pearl over the water flushed with ever changing lights. Both the outside and inside pools are perfectly maintained, especially the world class spa is outstanding and the expert Asian staff is true-to-the-bone professionals. Restaurant is quite OK (interesting menu) under the guideline of a 5-star hotel standard and breakfast is very satisfactory and fair priced. Nearby there are gadzillions of fine eating establishments and a very posh social scene at a neighboring region called Bebek (baby!)... The highlight of this highrise hotel is the roof top bar which has "out-of-this-world/ohhh-me-gosh" romantic, relaxing panoramic views of this fantastic city. The hands-on general manager Michael is always available to reach to and that ever capable PR manager Elif is a class act lady. On my next stay, I would like to see the Executive Floor functioning though. On a final note, an observation and a humble recommendation: the massive lobby has to be livened up somehow. It is purely bland. It is the ONLY un-impressive part of the compound. A sincere suggestion... During a recent business visit to Moldova, we, me and my corporate buddies from USA, have pleasantly came accross a harp player lady in a hotel who was creating pure magic while we were having breakfast, as well during the day she was performing her magic in the lobby... Not a piano, as is somewhat customary, but a delicate harp! We were all awe struck at how that mystical sound of the harp captured us and none of us are musicians...Quite soothing while we were tending business discussions and even the familes with kids were pleased by the uniqueness of the harp. Mesmerizingly captive and relaxing sound of a beautiful harp is one thing I would suggest to be 'placed' in this otherwise excellent-in-overall-terms hotel, by-the-water! In closing, I stayed in 3 Meridien's recently: Le Meridien Paris (Etoile), Le Parker Meriden New York (Central Park) and Le Meridien London (Piccadilly) but Le Meridien Istanbul (Etiler) is by far a long shot, THE BEST! Will strongly recommend it to anyone with gusto! p.s.; my Istanbul stay was both business related and also having some 'quality' time with my spouse.

We spent 4 nights in July in this hotel and I would highly recommend this hotel. Professional staff, lovely views and great to be in a quieter up-market neighbourhood away from the touristy areas.

We had read several tripadvisor reviews about the distance of the hotel from the main tourist attractions etc. We were prepared for this but if you are a little adventerous and inquisitive it is actually not too bad getting around the city. A bus stop is 5 minutes walk from the hotel and will take you to Taxsim or Besiktas and you can take a taxi (costing around 9 euros) to the nearest metro station. The concierge is very helpful and knowledgable and gives a very helpful insight into the city and its highlights.

The hotel itself is new modern, good spa, hamam and pool facilities. The gym is open 24/7. The hotel management, in particular Elif accomodated our requests and my husband and I had a lovely room with panoramic views of the city and the Bosphorus. All in all a very professional service.

There were only two negatives are that they only have one lady in concierge - she is excellent but cannot be present all the time and Le Meridien really need to employ a 2nd person! The porters are all very nice but don't really know about the city and getting around and perhaps they could be trained so that they are equipped with the information to help visitors when the concierge is unavailable.

The other negative was that the family next door to our room kept slamming their room door every few minutes. Whilst sound from the rooms does not travel, the sound of slamming doors every few minutes for several hours certainly does!

Overall a great hotel for a romantic city break or a business trip. Speak to the concierge and you will be able to navigate around the city quite easily (albeit not always with vitesse)

Room Tip: Walk to the bus stop and get the bus to the main attractions. Try the hamam and steam room and spa...

Dear Valued Guest,

We were delighted to read your detailed and insightful comments. Your eloquent feedback regarding our staff, location, Explore SPA and concierge services were encouraging and much appreciated by all of us at Le Méridien Istanbul Etiler.

Your suggestions on the need for extra concierge staff and an improved bell service are duly noted. We would like to assure you that internal training at our property is our main focus and we are confident that we will achieve the high level standards Le Méridien and Starwood stands for.

We understand how frustrating it must have been enduring the slamming doors you mentioned. If we had known, we would do our best to improve the situation immediately for you.

Thank you very much again and we look forward to welcoming you back very soon.
Warmest wishes from fabulous Istanbul.

Very expensive compared to the service. Hotel is new which may explain the level of the staff. They are clearly not used to deliver the level of service expected from such a hotel.
All kinds of services available which is good (but also expected)

Dear Valued Guest,

We respect and have taken note of your feedback regarding the prices, however, we were more concerned to read that you found our service level sub par in relation to your rightful expectations. We do not believe that being a new property is an excuse, in this regard, we are consistently upgrading our internal trainings to reach the service level our guests expect and most importantly deserve to get.

We highly value such detailed feedback from our guests as it reflects areas that need to be improved from our guests perspective, which is our foremost focus so we would like to express how much we apprecaite your input.

Kind Regards,

Elif Aydinligil

Stayed for 5 days in July, 2012. I have been to many starwood hotels, but Le Meridien Istanbul is among the best one. All the needs were met, and the staff were exceptionally excellent. A great view of Bosphorus. A little far from the city center, but it's only about 30 Turkish Lyra equivalent to about 15 Euros in a taxi. I preffer rather quiet and calm neiborhood and this one is IT!!! It's located at luxury neighborhood and there are many restraunts and shopping centers within 10 minutes in a car.

During my stay, one of my friend had an abdominal pain, so I asked for nearby hospitals. The concierge was excellent. They wrote me a note with the names of the hospital and even called the hospital for the available doctors.

I was more than 100% satisfied and so were my friends. I am from South Korea, and one of my friend is actually visiting Istanbul again with parents and is planning to stay at Le Meridien.

When I came back to South Korea, my friends kept saying about how nice the hotel was.

I definitely recommend this hotel to everyone except the ones who want accomodation to be near the city center.

Dear Valuable Guest,

Thank you for choosing to stay at Le Méridien Istanbul Etiler and for taking the time to post your review on TripAdvisor

We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and we are grateful for your kind comments about our Concierge team.

As you righly said the hotel has easy access to the famous Bebek area, next to the Bosporus, with many restaurants, bars and cafes. Moreover we can say that the major shopping malls are pretty close to us, while still located in the more quieter upscaled, Etiler surroundings.

Once again, thank you for posting your kind comments and for choosing to stay with us. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again to Le Méridien Istanbul Etiler
