“Personal warmth, sensational location, lovely rooms.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2012

Like so many others, we chose Millennium Suites because of the universally positive reviews. We were not disappointed.

Alper was, throughout, a gracious host/manager/owner, from prompt, crisp pre-arrival e-mail communications through excellent tour, meal, and shopping advice, to his arranging a final tour to our specifications on the day of our departure, wending through interesting parts of Istanbul, including a non-touristy, very upscale shopping mall at our request, and ending at the airport. Definitely better than a standard cab ride.

Alper’s chef and his assistant manager were equally helpful, warm, and kind. But the best part…and you probably won’t be able to avail yourselves of this(!)…was the chance to meet Alper’s totally adorable 2 ½ year-old son, hanging out with his dad for the day, who practiced his nursery school English on us (“What-is-your-name?”).

We agree with the many positive comments others have written, and would only add that our fourth floor room faced the busy street, but it was nearly as quiet as a country inn. For our second night, Alper moved us to a second floor rear room with its own lovely courtyard.

Without question, Millennium Suites is a home away from home, in a spectacular location.

Room Tip: All rooms are fine, and on the large side for a boutique hotel in that area. Don't worry about l...

Millennium Suites is truly a team effort to cater to guests. I was warmly greeted by the owner, Mr. Alper and served spirits and snacks and provided a wealth of visitors' information. All amenities are provided, even a shaving kit. The rooms are clean, adequately spacious, quiet with tasteful Turkish decor. There is no pool/fitness center but with all the walking you will do to savor Istanbul's history, you won't miss it. The shower is hot and full throttle. Breakfast buffet is available every morning 8-10 in the main lobby with a vast array of Turkish savories and sweets, fruits, juices, tea, coffee. I tried something new each day. The cook will be happy to oblige personal requests, e.g., omelet. Akbiyik is a quaint, cobblestoned street lined with rows of boutique hotels with street-front restaurants as well as small markets and gift shops. The famous mosques, Hippodrome, Topkapi Palace, tram and hop on-hop off sightseeing buses are all in SHORT walking distance (7 minutes). There are travel agencies every few blocks to reserve a seat in a private van (10euros) or group van (5 euros) to Ataturk Airport. Millennium's partner restaurant, Magnaura, boasts a delightful Turkish menu. Try the manti. The Turkish white and red wines are divine. I frequented their outdoor restaurant and the terrace sea view ambience 4 times during my 8 day stay! You will not be disappointed in any respect. Alper, Arzu (fantastic cook), Sonar, Tanar, etc. will be happy to accommodate all of your needs. My only regret is that I did not stay longer with my "family" away from home. PS June 27 -July 4 weather was mild with lusciously cool evenings.Check out their detailed website.

Room Tip: MS is a small hotel with few rooms. I was on the 1st floor and then relocated to the 2nd. MS was ope...

We had a fantastic 4 night stay in this little Boutique hotel. You cannot hope for better service and to be more central. The staff went out of their way to make this one of the most memorable experiences you can have in a hotel. They take initiative and deliver efficiently on each request you may have. Nothing is impossible!
