The view from above is just wonderfuuuuullll . I am in love . Its a bit hard to find cz its outside the grand bazaar next to wholesale shops . You need to ask the locals 4 directions . Its a must when visiting istanbul . You can see all istanbul from this rooftop

This Han has lost much of its originality as many buildings were added to the actual building. With three courtyards and a Shiite mosque in the middle, this Han houses 210 rooms and it was built by the famous queen Kosem Sultan in the middle of the 1600's.

The entrance is special but what makes this Han so famous is the view from the top. You can see the Galata Bridge, the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus as well as many landmarks of the city. There are of course some tiring stairs but it is worth the effort. There is a very nice book and cd shop inside as well. There are mostly textile and hat shops here.

Buyuk Valide Han has been closed to vistors a couple of days ago. Local people told me they were completely fed up with the hype and the behaviour of some people on the roof. It didn't sound they intended to ever leave anyone get up there again.

One of the things that you have to do it’s here. To go there you have to find your way through back alleys at some point you will reach a locked door with an old man asking you for a 5 TL, once you get there the view it’s outstanding all over the city is spectacular.

You have to go upstairs on the rooftop! It is the best view of Istanbul and it's almost free because you need to tip a man to show you how to get to the roof(for us it costed 2 tl). But it is worth to see for sure.
