Right in the heart of Istanbul's tourist district (Sultanahmet) this hotel is 10 minutes walk from St Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. Also close to trams and the Eminonu pier for boat trips. The room we stayed in was small but comfortable. There is a great terrace with a fantastic view of St Sophia and over the Bosphorus. Don't miss! The staff on the front desk are incredibly helpful and talk excellent English. Breakfast is excellent with plenty of variety and an omelette option. Also good value for money. All in all the perfect place to stay in Istanbul.

Room Tip: Higher floors get you away from the noise of the reception

We stayed 3 nights in the hotel 27 - 30 March. It was perfectly located in the Sultanahmet area (old Town) off the main street. Being the old town this street was very narrow and at certain busy times taxis are unable to drive along to the hotel because of parked cars ... it is a feature of the busy life at peak times in the old town. Our taxi driver dropped us off in the main street at the head of the sreet the hotel was located in and we trundled our case along the pavement to the hotel where a member of staff was outside waiting to welcome us in. This minor inconvnience was a small price to pay for an otherwise perfectly located hotel. On checking in we were given excellent information on tram journeys i.e. where they run to and where to get tokens, sightseeing trips, nearby restaurants and the main important sights only a few minutes walk from the hotel. We were also given information on a business card size of opening and closing times of about 12 close by sights. The view from the terrace was amazing. The Turkish breakfast was colourful and plentiful and omellettes could be ordered if desired. Our room was bijou. but we didn't plan to spend time in it and it was well appointed with a julliet balcony which provided an excellent view of the building across the very narrow street.Quaint. Sometimes you have to give a little to gain a lot and locality and roof terrace are fabulous. We were celebrating a significant wedding anniversary and the little thoughtful touches from the hotel in recognising this were much appreciated. Our room was tastefully decorated and had a stocked minibar, for purchasing from, and a safe.

Starting with the Manager, Kadir, we had some great service at the Agora Life Hotel. They were very accommodating with our rooms, the breakfast was always plentiful and delicious. The hotel itself was always well maintained and the other front desk workers were always around to give advice and help us navigate Istanbul. The location is perfect to get to the Grand Bazaar and the Spice Bazaar. We were close to tons of restaurants and bars, one of which (Amedros) was an excellent meal each time. We definitely recommend this hotel to people who like a nice, clean, boutique hotel, in a great location, with great staff and great rooms.

If you are a first time visitor and want to be within walking distance to the major historic sights, the Agora Life fits the bill. We stayed on the top floor in a suite which was not opulent but charming. The rooms are clean, the staff is really helpful and the the breakfast buffet is nice--the coffee exceptional. There is a very good fish restaurant around the corner but a late night cocktail cannot be found in this neighborhood. We really enjoyed the walking tour guide they recommended. All in all, I would stay here again.
