I had stayed at Chambers once before with 2 other friends, and we loved it. I booked a different hostel this time (only because this one was full) and it was the worst I've seen yet. So we walked over to Chambers in hopes of a cancellation, and although he was still booked he managed to fit us into an extra room in the building for the night. It was a lifesaver, and was even a better rate than the other.

The hostel is right near everything in Beyoglu, with clubs, bars, cafes, and shopping. The owner is funny and helpful, and there are usually interesting and friendly people staying there. Not to mention, it's really clean! You might hear some music at night from nearby, but the hostel itself is pretty quiet and it's worth the location. Free wifi and a computer in the lobby.

Take the Havas bus from the airport to Taksim, and it's just a 10 min walk to the hostel.

Before arriving at the hostel we had read some reviews, which said that there was too much noise and too many mosquitoes. This made us a bit anxious but it never became a problem. Because let's face it. If you want to live in such a lively amazing part of this wonderful city at this time of the year - there HAS to be some (or should I say a lot of) noise and there HAS to be mosquitoes. And we slept all 5 nights with no issues.

The people we met at this hostel were amazing and it really didn't matter wether there was no lockers or not. We pretty much trusted each other. But I can see it beeing an issue if you cannot trust your roommates - and sometimes you just can't.

Another good thing is the fact that they serve breakfast 'till 10.30! That's a treat! We managed to get out of bed and get down at the cafe 10.25 every day just to get the egg, the bread, the tomato, the cucumber and the olives;)

The only thing that did bother us was Ahmed the owner. You must remember always to say hello and pay a lot attention to him and what he is saying. He seemed to have a hard time understanding that we had other things to do in Istanbul than to sit and hang out with him every night... But overall he seemed to be a great guy who will do a lot to please his customers.

Everything written in the previous comment is true, only the author forgot to mention the backside of those pluses: the hostel is truly located ın a wonderful spot, 2 minutes away from Taksim and right on the Istiklal and you can't really move in the neighborhoud without bumping into the next club, bar, cafe, etc. This is great if socialızing is your only gol, however, if you've spent the day sightseing and are tired and want to rest, well, forget about it. Not till early morning, at least.

Security was another issue: there are no lockers in the hostel.

Last but not least, some social, political ideas of its owner Ahmet are rather... doubtful. If you happen to stay there ask him what he think about blacks or women rıght, or gipsies, and so on.
