Nice rooms with a good bar to relax or party in. Staff are friendly, food is good in a welcoming atmosphere. Tv's to watch your favorite team play & the staff go out of their way to get your game of choice on. Inside area to dance late into the night or outside area, heated in winter to relax.

Have been coming here winter and summer for around 6 years - have always received the best service, great food & drink and the friendliest of company. Very accommodating regarding sports viewing - they were happy to start screening rugby matches at a time when I was the only rugby fan in the city - now they can tell me which matches are on, and when! Here's to the next 6 years! 100% recommended :D

I stayed here for 2 nights from 20-22 Oct 2014. I took a triple room but they did not check my confirmed booking. They gave out my triple room and gave me a 6-bed dorm for 3 of us. It was not so great sleeping under another bed. The room has great view from the sea but it has its other problems. The other adjacent 2 rooms were 6 or 8 bed dorms. The other occupants were a nuisance playing guitar or talking outside the room until late night and we could not sleep. There were other school students who were always shouting and screaming which is very annoying.
Apart from all these problems, the room & bathroom are very clean and the location is great. The staff are very helpful and friendly. There is free coffee & tea until 3.00 pm. Internet in the room is wobbling up and down. It can be quiet annoying. They only give you ONE key for the whole room even there are 3 pax staying there.
If you like all the noise with the younger group, stay here. If you like to be quiet, avoid at all cost.

Room Tip: Avoid the 5th Floor dorms at all cost if you want to have good sleep and quiet atmosphere.

I stayed at the Sultan Hostel for a few nights in October of 2014. It was a very clean hostel which I appreciated. However, it seemed more like a bar that also had a hostel. The music and patrons in the bar were very loud late into the night. The hostel lacked a lounge for the hostel guests that was not part of the noisy bar. Some of the reception staff were helpful and friendly while others were not.

I love Istanbul and have been there for already 3 times. I adore strolling through Istanbul's streets, buying all sorts of nice things, my favorite deals are drinking tea, eating turkish sweets in small and cozy cafes, smoking nargile and just chilling out not paying attention to a quite active pace of Istanbul life. All of them are the main reason why I decided to write my review for that hostel. To mind come only positive words. I was pleasantly suprised what this hostel is like. If to compare your staying there in the afternoons and at nights it's like two absolutely different places. During the day you can enjoy quiet and calm moments while you are there and in opposite at night you can spend good time in a company of the tourists from all over the world, or companies)) Who knows! Good playlist, nice atmosphere and of course that's a good bargain of money, location and place. I'm infinitely impressed with Sultan hostel is located in one of the most popular and tourist spots of Constantinople within a walking distance from Blue mosque, Topkapi Palace, Aya Sofya and Sultanahmet meydani. There are a huge number of small shops that can offer all what you want - from jewelry to usual souvenirs.
