“Two weeks at the Paris Hostel”
Reviewed 26 March 2012

We spent two weeks at the above and had a lovely stay, the hostel was very friendly, the staff could not do enough for you and all with a smile, the sheets and towels were changed every other day during the whole period. Yes it is in a back street but close to everything you would want in Istanbul so unless you wish for five star this is a good place to base your trip.

Room Tip: The staff will do their best to give you what you want when you arrive. There are single, double, t...

We paid 25 euros/night for a double room so we pretty much expected little. The stuff is very freindly, there is hot water, and although it's not exactly central it's really close to the tram, plus most sights (Haya Sofia, Blue Mosque e.t.c.) are in a walking distance.

A little hard to find even by the Taxi driver, but I was not disappointed. After checking in, I went up the 2 flights of stairs to my 10 Bed female dorm. Nice and clean with fresh bedding and very thick blankets on the bed. The Bunk beds are al metal so be careful when getting in and out, you might bump your head on a sharp edge. Clean bathroom with plenty of hot water. Very little space to hang clothes but little night stands to put items in. Buffet breakfast consisted of: Eggs, tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, bread, tea and instant coffee. This was not free, it cost 7 Lira. There is a laundry service that you can avail yourself of for about 8 Lira a kilo. NO free computers to use if you don't have a laptop though there is a cafe around the corner that has computers you can use for a price. There is a little pub downstairs if you want something to drink other than water. Nice, friendly staff, willing to help and answer questions. A bit off the beaten path, but not bad. Only 3 blocks to the main Cadessi (Street). Around the corner is a nice food market place where you can buy your own food and snacks and bottled water. The price of bottled water was a little higher than at the food store.

Paris Hotel and Hostel is situated in Sultanahmet, just a few minutes'walk from the main sights. Yet, it's quiet there, and the price is very reasonable - 40 Euros for a twin room with air-conditioning (which is absolutely vital in hot summer there), including breakfast (which could have been better though). People are nice, friendly and helpful, all in all, I'd stay there again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room higher up, it's quieter; send email to hotel

The place is clean, the staff friendly and the location excellent. So the dingy small room does not bother me. I think about the price. Note the location pin is way off - it is close to Blue Mosque
