“A nice park”
Review of Amir Temur Square

Amir Temur Square
Reviewed 21 January 2018

This is a nicely landscaped park with a statue of Amir Temur (Tamerian, Tamerland) gallantly riding a horse and waving to the presumably cheering masses.

Temur was a Mongol conqueror who was able to gain control over a large part of western, central and south Asia and the Middle East. He legitimized his conquest by “re-claiming” lands which had belonged to Genghis Khan. He was not a descendant of Khan (he was not a Chinggisid), and could therefore not use the title “Khan”, so instead he used the title “Amir” (general). Although he did marry a princess of Chinggisid descent.

It's alright. Just a statute in the middle of the a small square. You can walk around the, but it isn't much to see.

A well maintained and pleasant location with an impressive statue of Temur. I walked here on a Saturday evening with my hosts. I was struck by the lack of people around and about on a Saturday evening. Otherwise, this was a pleasant venue for a short (30 minute) visit.

It is just a normal square where you can find a bank with an ATM, but there is nothing really interesting about it. You can just pass by, but you won't spend many hours around.

Located not far from Metro Amir Timur.
Here you can see the locals strolling around, and some will even talk to you to practice their English.
Further west is the famous Broadway, where a lot of souvenirs and art works are selling there. At night, there are also restaurants and bars
