I visited the zoo with my husband. We like to watch and learn about exotic animals. The park has no European standard, but what did you expect here? The park is large and marked with number signs, so it is easy to find your way. The cafeteria was ok. The best thing was that we got close to some of the animals because a guide let us feed some of them. The bird show wasn't much to see, but I would have gone back, and then together with small children.

It's disappointing and heartbreaking to go this place and see the animals in the condition they are. Not fed properly, Its filthy and it's in utter chaos. Terribly maintained. If you have any love for animals, please don't go here.

It's one of the best organised zoos I've been to. It's average size and can be toured by foot even if you have small children. We have a 2 years old. He enjoyed it very much. We were lucky to be approached by a guide who charged reasonably acceptable amount for the tour (1500 Rupees). He showed us around very well and he knows the zoo very well so we didn't waste time on unoccupied cages or dead end roads. He even got our son to feed some animals which made him super happy. We missed all the shows carried out in the zoo as we went at the beginning of the week when nothing really happens but we didn't care much as our little one gets bored easily anyways. This tour kept him alert and occupied the whole time!
The only problem was mid-day heat but it went off pretty quickly with a nice breeze.
It's going to be a memorable visit. It's very clean and tidy and native people are very welcoming and keep it well maintained (unlike the huge zoo in Chennai).
