Stayed there twice for two nights each, five days apart.
Wonderful old historic building tastefully renovated. Tall rooms, light and airy public spaces. Well appointed bedroom on ground floor with secluded yard. Tall wooden doors (8 ft tall) and ceilings (13 ft tall). Roof restaurant with excellent menu including fairly authentic Japanese section plus Sri Lankan dishes. Fish curry and rice served on banana leaf particularly good.
My reservations - appalling water supply. no water or cold water in shower for three out of four days . Management were quick to remedy - but the fix did not fix it - pump kept tripping out. And the hotel is dry - so no wine or beer with dinner, and no bar.More
