I spent 3 nights here. I travelled with family. We stayed in 2 rooms on the ground floor. We did not book the rooms in advance but just turned up. Luckily for us, there was availability.
Food: Breakfast was included which I didnt try but my family did. The only complaint I heard was that the tea was far too sweet. Not sure whether the pratha was made with veg oil or dairy ghee, because I didnt try it. I stayed in both the Marriott and Pearl Continental and both hotels used disgusting veg oil for pratha.
Rooms: The rooms were spacious and clean. I preferred these rooms to both the Marriott and the Pearl Continental. In the Marriott, the only rooms available were smoking rooms and they stank. In the Pearl Continental, the room was very shabby and the air conditioning system was blowing out bone dry, very dusty air (hated it). The rooms at the Royal Galaxy were naturally cool and we did not need the air con. Perhaps in winter, they would be too cold. In the future, I think I would probably ask for a first floor room, as the sounds from the reception and kitchen could be heard in the room I was in. Wi-fi was included in the price of the room.
Staff: The guest house staff were very helpful and did whatever they could to make our stay enjoyable.

Safety: The area is gated. Staff are also in the reception area and there is a large gate that is kept locked. I felt very safe staying here.
Local area: There is a shopping parade within walking distance. My son got a beard trim from the barbers. My sister was given cow's milk and buffalo milk to sample at one of the grocers. My sister also gave some material into the local tailor and he did an amazing job in literally one day. There are also taxis parked in outside the shopping parade so you can get about easily if you dont have a car.
When I return to Islamabad, I will definitely stay here again.More
