Salana Boutique Hotel is very well located, has lovely rooms, and a nice restaurant. I only spent one night there but would have liked to have spent more time there. The rooms are spacious with a safe in the room.

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel and were impressed by the impeccable service and nicely appointed rooms. Breakfast offerings were good and WiFi was working very well.

The location is convenient for the many restaurants in the area and the night market on the corniche. Wat Si Saket is within walking distance.

Salana is a wonderful hotel located in the centre of Vientiane Mekong River area. It is walking distance to many popular restaurants, pubs, markets and temples. Our room was very comfortable. Breakfast was included with the room. Along with the selection of buffet items you can order from a menu. I enjoyed the banana crepe with whip cream. More traditional breakfast items like eggs, and french toast are also included. They do serve other meals but we did not have time to fit everything in during this visit. The spa, located on the second floor is lovely with room for two to have a foot massage or two to have a traditional or oil massage. Many package combinations are available depending on your needs. It was convenient to not have to leave the hotel to enjoy this Lao experience.

The staff are all friendly and have excellent English. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to all travellers to Vientiane.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The room was large, beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds and reliable air conditioning. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of Western and Asian dishes, both on a buffet and made to order. The spa provided a wonderful interlude, and the bar/lounge was comfortable and served great fruit-based (non-alcoholic) beverages. The lounge is on an upper floor so appears to cater mostly to hotel guests. The location was perfect for roaming around the city, in a good neighborhood within an easy walk of shopping streets and restaurants, as well as the night market. The staff was very helpful, gave us good information and suggestions, and arranged a car for our transfer to the airport. There are lots of less expensive places to stay in Vientiane, but we felt the Salana was a good value for the very comfortable stay it provided. Would stay here again - any time!

Room tip: Ask for a room overlooking the temple and street - interesting viewing!

Just returned from 3 night stay at Salana. Luxurious bed and room appointments. Wonderful breakfast. Location near night market, but a little bit to far East of main downtown action. Only other weakness is that many of the staff, while always meaning well, need some polishing. Got poor advice on restaurant info. Best way to take excursions is to get hotel to arrange with private taxi, not hotel car, which charges double or more of local rates.
