“Central, right price but no pool”
Reviewed 24 April 2012

Loved that place after my other dissapointment which cost me more than 150 bucks a night. Anise offers right price for excellent food and good accomodation, friendly not only smily service and in one of the two centers of pp. the owners always around, they help you with any questions you might have and i had a lot.... Here to set up a business and appreciated any contacts... C
Continue great work

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night. We booked by emailing the hotel directly and they also arranged an airport pick up for us.

we arrived on an early flight and were pleasantly surprised when we we allowed to check in 5 hrs before the advertised checkin time.

The room was spacious and clean. We were on the top floor and , as other reviewers have said, there is no elevator so be prepared for a lot of stairs! They do offer room service though and will bring food and beverages up for you.

The patio restaurant is lovely and shady and offers a good selection. Breakfast was included in our room rate ($47) and there we about 9 choices - western, Asian and continental.

We met a great tuk tuk driver outside the hotel who drove us around for most of our 4 day stay.

Overall, a nice hotel.

Room Tip: Lower floor if you don't like stairs!

This hotel is a hidden treasure. The price was most reasonable. Location superb. Be sure to try to get a lower floor as the walk-up (no elevators) is the only challenge at this hotel. The front desk manager, Sokheng, is fabulous. The rooms are spacious. Laundry (5 pieces daily) is free. Meals are good. Free internet in lobby.

Tuk-tuks are everywhere. Sophia (man) is a great driver and is often to be found at front door. Great spa 5 doors away. Ask for Kia. The Central market is outstanding. Lots of great deals to be had or even have a dress made.

Room Tip: Lower floor as there are no elevators.

We have stayed at the Anise Hotel in PP 4 times now (2008, 2009, 2012), and have found it to be consistently good. Wonderful, helpfull owners and staff always make you feel at home. We prefer the deluxe king, which has a lovely balcony from which you get a great view of the streets immediately surrounding the hotel. Good breakfast (choose from the special breakfast menu), green mango juice is highly recommended. Live tradional music several nights a week by a talented young lady. Wonderful seating area outside divided from the street by lots of plants, giving it a private feel. Good restaurant; pleasant bar. Great , friendly neighborhood (lots of small shops and restaurants). We are very much looking forward to our next stay! Overall: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Room Tip: Choose a room with private balcony; wonderful early in the morning and at night.
