“Very moving, worth the trip.”

Well done audio presentation. Background knowledge and research into the Khmer Rouge and Cambodian history will greatly contribute to your visit to Choeung Ek. Allow at least two hours to listen to the audio guide and fully appreciate the site. I rented a moto for $6 for the day and rode here solo which is easy to do, it's well posted in English. If you ride on your own or tuk-tuk definitely avoid rush hour traffic.

“An educational experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2012

I wouldn't exactly call this a tourist attraction or a sight but an educational experience. Not much is left of this infamous place, most of it was destroyed when the Khmer Rouge were forced out. It's definitely not a place I felt comfortable with my camera, the feeling probably stemmed out of respect for the dead and a desire to learn. There's a free audio tour with the entrance fee, don't skip it. It offers the stories of survivors and details of this terrible place.
Visiting will definitely make you question humanity and count your blessings.
