If St 240-1/2 sounds baffling, just look for the alley nestled close to the Wine Warehouse, and there you'll find Public House. I've eaten here three times, and have tried the fish & chips, the shepherd's pie and Sam's bangers & mash – each of which were excellent "pub grub" with a boutique touch. Prices are reasonable, given that next to nowhere in Phnom Penh comes to close offering comfort-food favorites of this quality.

The place is small but has an intimate feeling to it, fitting with the hidden alley way where it is located. You wouldn't know about this place unless somebody has told you about it or brought you there. The food is good, but could take awhile. The menu is not big, but they do have weekly specials. Recommend for a date or a small group outting.

I happened about this place when I was exploring street 240 on a recent trip to Phnom Penh, and decided to have dinner here on a Friday night. Was a bit worried when I walked into an empty restaurant at 8pm, but we were pleasantly surprised. My husband and I both enjoyed our food (burger for him, chicken schnitzel for me -- both nicely cooked and very yummy, dessert not as good), and had a few drinks. Service was friendly and attentive. Ambience very nice. Good value. I'm in PP often and will definitely return.

It is a bit hard to find as it is down an alley way, but there is a big wine shop near the alley entrance on St. 240 -- use that as a reference and you'll have no problems. There are a couple nice bars across from the restaurant as well that are worth checking out.
