“Ok Indian food”
Reviewed 9 March 2012

I had a vegetarian dish which was fine. The papadum was pretty greasy and I needed to wipe it off with napkins, but it was then ok. The garlic naan bread basically seemed to be a naan bread stuffed with big chunks of raw garlic which I had to pick out to make it edible.
Overall it was ok.

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review on TripAdvisor, it is very much appreciated. Whilst we enjoy positive reviews it is the more critical reviews that allow us to improve our level of service. I am sorry that your poppadom was 'greasy' and I have spoken to the kitchen staff about this and I trust it will not happen again. As for the garlic nann, using crushed fresh garlic is our style of cooking them and it is extremely rare that we get any negative feedback about them, from what I observe most customers eat all of their garlic nann bread.

“Thought the Indian food was better than average.”
Reviewed 25 February 2012

Had the chicken curry (requested extra spicy) and the rogan josh chicken (also extra spicy) and both were excellent. Both were just a bit more than $3. Price and flavors made for a delicious evening. Special offer of a pint of Angkor beer for only $1.50 with any Indian dishes did influence our initial decision slightly but really just an added bonus after all.

“Excellent Amok”
Reviewed 22 February 2012

I ordered the Fish Amok, it was a very good dish, subtly spiced, cooked to perfection. Only 1 thing to complain about: please serve larger portion of this heavenly dish!

“Excellent breakfast & dinner”
Reviewed 15 February 2012

We took the advice of the Lonely Planet and tried the Rising Sun for our first breakfast, let down. Then another traveller suggested we try Anjali, excellent advice. The English breakfast was top notch, fried or scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, fried tomato, hash brown, toast and jam, really filling. My friends tried other choices such as the omeletes, cereal and veggie breakfast, all agreed the food was tasty. So much so we returned later in the day for dinner and once again were not disappointed, the menu is very varied with Asian, Western and Indian, again amongst us we tried the 3 cuisines and again the verdict was all very tasty. Personally I went for the chicken jalfrezi which had tender boneless chicken and was nice and spicy, with rice and an enjoyable garlic naan bread. For both breakfast and dinner the prices were superb value, as the dishes are very filling.

“Nice food, relaxed atmosphere”
Reviewed 31 January 2012

Anjali was a nice little restaurant in the typical style of the Phnom Penh riverfront – open fronted and looking out over the boulevard. The food here was great and it was a nice spot to spend an hour or so. The staff were attentive and friendly. Anjali is perfectly located somewhere around the middle of the boulevard that runs opposite. A very good option for a meal in Phnom Penh.
