This is a photographic account of Ho's life. Lack of English text meant that I failed to see the point of most of the conversations in Vietnamese.

The Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue is open from 07 to 11 in the morning and from 1.30 to 4 in the afternoon. Entrance is free. The main exhibition is located on the first floor. Red arrows on the floor point you in the right direction.

There are many old photos and documents. There is a caption for every item. The captions are in three languages: Vietnamese, French and English. The exhibition on the first floor covers Ho Chi Minh's life. The exhibition on the ground floor covers the time since his death in 1969.

You are allowed to take photos. Unfortunately, many items are placed behind glass and this means that it is difficult to take a good picture of them.

[Please notice: one photo posted on this page shows the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi and one photo posted here shows the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi. It seems some people are rather careless when posting. Why does TripAdvisor approve photos when it is clear that they are submitted to the wrong page?]

Quite interesting, especially for persons over a certain age with strong recollections of the Vietnam wars in the 50s and 60s. Assuredly one comes away with a strong sense of a remarkable man (Ho Chi Min) and, in many ways, an impressively simple one. There is, however, a certain monotony in the rather limited number of artifacts on display. It is some years since I was in Hanoi, but my recollection is that the museum there was substantially more fulsome and impressive - which is, perhaps, unsurprising.

Uncle Ho spend his youth studying in Hue, and Hue of course has a museum to his honor. The museum does not have lot of Objects, but the athmosphere is special; you can sence how importnat Ho Chi Minh is to most Vietnamese people. A must when in Hue.

This museum was a very good example of the legacy of Ho Chi Min he used this house a safe spot during the Viet Cong victory over the American forces during the spring offensive that included a siege of the city he was only in residence for a short time while checking progress of his troops. The city was constantly hit with bombs and artillery barrages during the offensive drive to conquer the American forces. The museum has a very good display of war relics plus many simple items as Ho Chi Min led a very Spartan life style.
