If you happen to find yourself at this intersection then it wont be hard to spot this venerable statue. How on earth you actually navigate the multiple traffic choked streets to get close up to it is beyond me, I was not brave enough!

This location is not worth a special visit but if you are in the vicinity check it out. The area it is located on is sadly not well kept, seems to have been neglected and not like it was during my visit to HCMC in 2014 when the pool was filled and a water fountain which lit up at night was working. It is however a significant bronze statue overlooking the park near the Saigon River amongst tall modern buildings. Sadly another monument in a park that is not well cared for.

Nothing too much to get excited about with this large statue located near the Renaissance Hotel and the river amongst a sea of traffic. A quick visit will be sufficient for most people.

I do not understand what this statue is all about. the abnormal road traffic prevents anyway, that one can look at this "place of interest" in peace. The time you can confidently save. Do not go there.

Its a grand statue, but in need of some regular maintenance, in the middle of a busy road which is best appreciated from a distance. Its far too dangerous to cross the road to get a close up look/photo.
There is no information board about him or why important to Vietnam. I learnt afterwards a 13th century Supreme Commander who prevented 3 invasions by Mongols !
Deserves more info and perhaps a river walk way to present these past icons and make more accessible.
