We stayed for a week in a Deluxe room with a balcony looking over the very busy Ham Nghi street. The hotel is an older one but is very clean and well maintained. The room was spacious and well equipped. There was a some traffic noise but it wasn't enough to disturb our sleep. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was OK with enough choices. The hotel is very close to Ben Thanh market but on a less busy side with few tourists. Behind the hotel there are many inexpensive eating and drinking places. The public bus terminal is just a minute walk away making travelling around the city very easy and cheap. We will be back.

Stayed there for 3 nights. It was OK and not much to compliment. Staff was ok but you need to speak clearly in English for them to understand. Breakfast is boring. Same menu everyday and the only changes is fried rice and the soup counter. They have egg counter too.

Room a bit dated. Aircond works well but it takes time to get cold. Sometimes you can listen to sound coming from the air conditioner. The water pressure is poor and they are using the old type of shower. They need to change the shower. My room (810) is quite big. Requested for twin bed but getting queen. Noise proof although the hotel is near to the big roundabout in front of Ben Thanh market.

They only offer small bottles of complimentary water instead of 500ml. Not suitable for a long stay but 1 2 nights is ok. The good thing is you don't have to pay any deposit. Hotel is next to good massage parlour (137 massage)

Hotel is near to Ben Thanh bus station. About 100 metres. Walking distance to Ben Thanh market. You just have to be brave to cross the busy road & roundabout. Hotel is also next to famous massage parlour the 137 Massage Salon

Awful now, they changed all staff members.
Management changed or something.
Water in the shower trickles like a person with a UTi takes forever to shower.
Such a shame was such a good hotel but now everything is so poorly looked after.

Great location.
Close to Ben Thanh markets and located on ham nghi, which itself is a brilliant street to Explore. Hotel rooms are old and a little run down now but they are kept well, clean and the staff are cool. Upgrading is worth it as the rooms are far bigger and have windows with view. Old fashion bathroom and a bit of a smoke smell are the main let downs however imperial is good value for HCMC and meets expectations.

I have divergent opinions about the hotel.
On one hand there are some nice things there on the other there are so many weak points there that for sure I would not recommend that hotel to anybody.
First of all, I booked something that doesn't exist. I've seen last minute offer with 14% discount - a room with fireplace. I said wow! a room with fireplace in Vietnam, it should be incredible place. Unfortunately they even don't know what fireplace is and for sure they don't have fireplaces in their rooms. I don't need a fireplace in the hotel in Vietnam, but it made my vision of the room, which in the end appeared totally different.
The room we got was really not a standard room but a penthouse near to the kitchen and a restaurant with pigeons nests out of the window. The AC stank like it has never been cleaned since it was installed additionally the fan was fixed for the highest level without the possibility of changing. There was a bath in the room but it was impossible to take the bath, because the stopper was installed in a way that all water leaked. We have asked to change the room so we got the newer one, but the bath construction was similar, additionally the hot water was enough for 1/10 of the bath, and then I should wait about 15 mnts to get next "shot" for 1/10 of the bath. After 30 mnts the water I have blocked in the bath (with a plastic bag) was cold...
Adding to all of this - some staff don't speak (or understand) English and WiFi is working sometimes (I suppose this is because somebody has installed routers in the corridors which are open to external weather conditions, and Linksys routers are not prepared to work in 35 C and 98% humidity), and in the end- they allow smoking in the restaurant during breakfast...
BTW - the offer of trips they propose is very expensive. We asked for the prices and got Cu Chi tunnels for 12 USD/pax and Mekong 1d for 20 USD/pax, in the end we bought Mekong from Sinh for 10 USD/pax and Cu Chi directly from the Juan Travel (the office they have the leaflet from) for 4 USD.
What is ok? The location, close to the market, and service is very helpfull.

Room Tip: I don't know if there are any good rooms, but don't agree for the room on 9th floor even if you like city views, it doesn't compensate the restaurant next to the room when you want to sleep.
