“Construction Nightmare!”
Reviewed 4 April 2012

We stayed here for three nights. All three mornings my partner and I woke up to construction. The first morning it was a power saw, i called down to reception to tell the workers to hold off til a respectable hour (it was 7:45). The next morning it was hammering at 8:15 and the third it was plumbing work 8:00. Each time the manager told me it wouldnt happen the following day.

These guys do not respect the guests right to sleep, i felt lied to and taken

By the way with 6 or so more floors to work on I would say its going to be a while before they are done.

Room Tip: Lower floor the better

We stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour too. Our room was small - the smallest we experienced in our trip thoughout Vietnam and Cambodia. As soon as we walked in we there was an overwhelming smell of cigarettes smoke. We rang reception and their response was that they have a no smoking policy! We wondered why as there were ash trys in the room! We were finally offered another room but it was a room that did not have any windows.

Room Tip: There are bigger rooms on the right hand side of the hotel - ask for one of these!

Hotel room was average however building work in hotel started way too early at 7.30am and the lift was often busy carrying stuff for the builders which would be ok but there was only 1 lift and I was on the 7th floor. This would have been all fine but the breakfast was the main issue with hotel. Cleanliness and care with food is very high in Vietnam but not at this hotel. For example butter was off during 3day stay. It disagreed with me first day then when I worked out what had made me feel ill smelt it and it was very off. Told the staff who did understand me and they did nothing about it as it was still off the next day. Also staff treated the dining room like a staff canteen watching vietnamese tv whilst sitting about doing nothing, ie didn't feel welcome. Some Cups/glasses/cutlery dirty. Also food that was cooked wasn't kept on heaters. Avoid this hotel!

I stayed here with part of an Intrepid original tour.
The room was quite large with an extremely comfortable bed. The staff were polite and lovely and its located in a nice 'quiet' street amongst the havoc enriched Siagon.

However, on closer inspection there were loose (and I'm assuming love) wires sticking out from the wall near the top and the shower clogged up within seconds so I was worried of the water spilling out all across the bathroom floor.

The noise in this hotel is not great either. Maintenance was all day and night and gave some of members of my tour a bad wakeup call, whilst I could hear footsteps from the other end of the hall, and even to the point where I could here the boys talking whilst in their room across from mine.

Great potential but just didn't cut it.

Ugly room with bizarre shaft behind closet from which various noises emanated all night. Constuction went on on the floor above for entire duration of our stay and the workers dumped sand and miscellaneous junk right outside our door. Will stay away from this place if ever in town again.
