This clean modern hotel is in an excellent location with most of Hanoi’s sights within easy walking distance. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with complimentary snacks and fruit. The staff are outstanding, they are so friendly, polite and helpful with ideas of what to do, where to eat and they will efficiently organise any trips. Really recommend the Paloma motor scooter tour, an evening tour of the sights of Hanoi with street food. They organised this for us and also tickets for the unique water puppet show, definitely not to be missed.

We stayed one night at Oriental Central Hotel following two nights at their sister hotel, Oriental Suites, following a trip to Halong Bay and after a 3 hr coach journey back to Hanoi.
We arrived at the hotel to very welcoming staff and were shown to our room. Our room was lovely, absolutely spotless with a fabulous shower! We enjoyed a lovely breakfast the following morning and the reception staff kindly checked us in for our flights, which was really appreciated.
The hotel organised transport to Hanoi Airport and even stopped the traffic in the road so we could safely cross with our bags!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Oriental Central, great location, lovely room and with first class staff who definitely go the extra mile for their guests.

Nothing more to say then the title of my review.

The Oriental Central Hotel is right in the middle of the Old Quarter near the lake, which is a great place to be if you are visiting Hanoi.

The staff are extremely helpful and nice, definitely 5/5 there.

Rooms are quite nice, and for the price - this hotel can't be beaten.

Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Rarely have I researched hotels so thoroughly than in Hanoi - a city which seems to offer so many boutique hotels of a similar standard and price, all with very good reviews. I was bamboozled and asked a question on the forums previously which received many very helpful replies, but each time the road kept leading me back to The Oriental Central.

What a perfect choice this turned out to be. We arranged a pick up from the airport through the hotel - well worth it for the price and peace of mind and the driver was waiting for us which was a great start.

We wanted to be in the heart of the action and you certainly are here. We generally like modern 4/5 star hotels, but I soon realised that we'd be missing out in terms of location and the service received here beat any faceless chain hotel hands down anyway! First impressions of the hotel were excellent - the guy at check in gave us very comprehensive details of places to see, places to eat, and general safety instructions and tips.

We'd upgraded to a suite which, in fairness, was the size of a standard sized room in a hotel chain, but we knew this in advance and was placed in a lovely room overlooking the road on the third floor. What you see if what you get, and the rooms correctly reflect the photographs on the hotels website. The attention to detail is incredible with lovely petals on our bed - not only reserved for longer stays as we noticed that one nighters were treated to the same. My number one priority for any hotel is that it has to be spotlessly clean. I simply cannot stay in a place that's dirty or even a bit tired looking and again, I'm pleased to report that The Oriental Central is so clean that it's sparkling! Our room was a little noisy, traffic noise (i.e. moped horns tooting) does start from 6am, but again we knew this in advance and it all adds to the charm of being in Hanoi.

Breakfast was more than adequate with a decent choice of cold and hot items which set you up for a days sightseeing. The breakfast room is charming.

The location is unbeatable - the city is extremely walkable and there are many bars and very good restaurants within a few minutes walk. The lake/temples further away are also walkable if you are fairly fit. We covered around 8 miles walking on our second day and the city is very flat.

Each time we returned to the hotel, we were greeted kindly by all of the wonderful staff, and Mary had a lovely chat with us when we were checking out and gave us a lovely coffee gift which my husband is looking forward to sampling this weekend.

My husband commented on leaving that this hotel is EVEN BETTER than it looks on the photos. We will definitely be back to Hanoi - I'd love to stay longer (we stayed for 3 nights on this visit) and explore the wider area and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

Thank you for your fantastic hospitality and a lovely stay.
