Pretty great Sunday brunch! Although no champagne or drinks included but food is still very good and excellent selection.

“Very average”
Reviewed 14 July 2012

For what is promoted as Vietnam's finest French restauant came to us as a big disappointment. There were only 2 tables last night, but the service was no where to be seen! A huge place, empty, and empty of staff. The lady waitress when she did finally appear was very polite and nice to get our drinks, but then was never to be seen again.

My lamb rack was appalingly bland, with a side plate of awful mashed potatoe.

The cheese selection was good and made up for a disasterous unromantic evening :(

It is exellent food wich we never eat before we come here. For us, it is not cheap but good.

Nothing to complain. Great value for money. Highly recommend for everyone .

“Good service, food, and ambience”
Reviewed 7 July 2012

Le Beaulieu is the Metropole Hotel's main breakfast haunt (great buffet), but also a great place to sit and watch the world go by from the terrace outside - or in air-conditioned comfort inside. Food ranges from French, Italian (pizza), Vietnamese and burger / sandwich styles. Wine list is excellent, with Billecart-Slamon Rose champagne by the glass, and a great Chile Chardonnay also by the glass. Le Beaulieu also offers a great kids menu, and staff are very good with children. Reasonably expensive (or probably very expensive by Vietnam standards), but worth a visit.

“Hard to resist? Wonder if that is still true!”
Reviewed 8 June 2012

We used to come here often for the Sunday Buffet Brunch but now we only come occasionally. We heard the buffet was the highlight for anyone passing through Hanoi and that was a while ago. I wonder if it's still true since the last time we had lunch, the place was filled with local families, not many visitors in sight.

The buffet boasts a good spread, from foie gras to 2, 3 types of oysters and everything are presented artfully. This is the best buffet in Hanoi in terms of food.

The one issue I have with the buffet is the hotel is stingy with drinks. Even iced water is dispensed sparingly. With $70++/pax, you would think water would be there as much as you wanted. At some point, the hotel didn't serve any water for free (citing health reason for their free water). Other hotels would give free flow of wines and soft drinks for just half of the cost.

Also, we had another incident where we found a live parasite inside an oyster. It was explained that it happened due to the nature of the products. Since I have never eaten any oyster without cutting it open first.

In short, we will still come here once in a while with guests from out of town but there are other options if it's just for our family.
