I must say this is one of the best hideaway hotel. Love the greenery and hospitality there. Staff would do everything to accommodate your wish. Spa is too good and not pricey compare to other hotel. We are vegetarian but they don’t have many option in menu however they try to manage what we order and food came out good. Staff are attentive to your need and jolly at all time. I would recommend this hotel to someone who prefer a quiet place yet you can get everything as from five star hotel.

A Lovely place , a hidden paradise from the busy City. Good for couples. Customer service there is top. Special Thanks to the team. Especially Bobby and Jenny who brought us a Birthday cake for my husband. He was so surprised and touched. Game changers like that are improving the experience. Well done Monttra Pattaya ! We will definitely be back.

Tucked away in a cozy corner as part of the Varuna Yacht Club property, The Monttra is a little gem.
About 20 rooms dotted in the midst of lush tropical forest, bird call, and dappled sunlight, the resort gives you the joy of both a forest retreat, as well as a beach resort.

A little path leads you down to a tiny strip of beachfront, shared with the yacht club. The infinity pool overlooks the sea and you can soak in it all day, watching the boats and yachts go by. It's a sheer drop from the pool to the rocks below and the beach around it is fairly shallow, so you can enjoy the sea vessels without having to put up with the noise that usually goes with it. The pool is shaded by ancient trees so you can swim all day without burning up.

The rooms are contemporary chic, cleverly designed, and comfortable. The mini bar is well stocked, and get this - it's all free! And that's the thing with the Monttra - like the Cornucopia, it keeps giving. A stocked bar, snacks, chocolate dipped strawberries on the bed instead of a mere mint... I could keep going.

The breakfast buffet is small but adequate, with each item on the menu done beautifully, instead of a large, extended menu of low quality fillers. If you miss the 10 am deadline for breakfast at their open air restaurant breeze that overlooks the sea, you can have a set platter brought to your bed. From 2 pm to 5pm they have a serving of small bites likes tapas, again, free of charge. We mostly ate our meals out and saw the city, but the few breakfasts we ate at the hotel, were delicious, varied, and filling.

The massage room is a thatched hut and set in the middle of a nautilus-like spiral - you walk through walls of bamboo greens to the hut set in the heart of it. I didn't think I'd have the courage to strip off in an open hut, in the middle of a resort, and yet, it's so well concealed, that you need have no fear and it is a far lovelier experience than any air-conditioned room.

A special mention of the staff (Bobby in particular, is a star!) - they go above and beyond the call of duty to accommodate you. Need a cab at 2am? Sure, ma'am. An umbrella? Right away. I liked an item of decor that is a local handicraft, one they'd used around the resort, and asked where I could buy one. They promptly packed up a brand new piece from their extras and gave it to me.

As we got into our cab for the airport and I relaxed into the comfort of the seat, I mentioned to my husband that they'd spoilt us enough to last a year. He produced a little bag from the back of the seat saying that it wasn't over - they'd thoughtfully packed us a little picnic bag of sandwiches and water for the ride to the airport.

In short, it's a great place for honeymooning couples, or those on their second honeymoon, like us, but kids below 7-8 would probably be better off elsewhere. The toilet doors have no locks, there are certain sections that have steep drops to the ocean, past rocks. And there is no godawful mac and cheese type offering on the menu. If however, your kids are well behaved, quiet, and enjoy good food, this is as lovely a place for them as any adult.

Room Tip: There is no wheelchair or buggy access to many of the rooms.

A good hotel, small and it has own charming moments. The truth is the case when the photos are made or very professional or so improved that you will not recognize these places. The breakfast was not bad, the nature around is also picturesque, all overgrown with lianas and you are walking down the path into the depths as if in a jungle. The terrace was without a roof and all its own sun loungers and pool were constantly in twigs and leaves and in the rain. The cost is too high.

We spent 3 nights at the resort but didn't get to use the facilities much due to busy working schedule. Every staff member of the Monttra ensured our stay to be at it best once we at the resort, a stress free and good relaxing time. Breakfast menu and selection are at good quality especially when combining with the horizontal sea scape in the front. The free 15-min-massage is the best that we would be sorry if missed. The staff took extra mile to make sure we got to have these session by arranging time for our last minute prior to check out.

The only con side is the room should have more place to hang cloth and keep those dirty laundry.

The hotel is great but the staff member is the best!!! All in all, a must visit place and we will definitely return!
